If you play on MnK and you have your DPI set to 800 and above, the in game sensitivity option will be useless if you want to lower your aim and 3rd person view sens.
I play games on a medium/low sens (about 30cm for a 360) and I couldn't get the in game sens to match even half of what I wanted.

Game refunded, sad cause for 5 bucks I would've liked to try it out since I loved wildlands.

Activision at it again. They waited for the steam sale to finish to send a C&D to the guys who hyped up the game because of the mod they were about to release.
Without H2M the game is at best dead, without lobbies, at worst hackers can access your computer and steal your information/install malicious software

It's a very fun game, great to blow off some steam after a day at work. Missions are fun and the dev team listens to the playerbase, for the most part.

The mixed (at the time of the review) score is because Sony wanted to push a mandatory PSN account to play and the countries where the service isn't available would've essentially been cut off the game despite having purchased it through steam. Thankfully as of right now, Sony has decided NOT to follow through with the policy and the review bombs are gradually going away.

Get this game, is fun

Great atmosphere, great story and a kitty cat. A bit short timewise, I would've loved to play more, but still a game worth playing every second of it.
Absolutely loved it

I'm going to keep this short and focus on 3 points: campaign, multiplayer and zombies as of right now WZ2.3.4.5.whatever isn't out yet.

Campaign: 3/10, 1 point for each hour it took me to finish it (thank God as the story feels written by ChatGPT and open combat missions are lazy shortcut to avoid animating and planning out good campaign missions)

Multiplayer: 5/10, it would easily have been a 7.5-8/10 if it weren't for absurdly strict sbmm and insane rotational aim assist (though this isn't an issue if you're on controller) but if you play MnK and are about/above average you're gonna have a miserable experience. I'm slightly above avg, I happened to drop one nuke and the 5-10 subsequent matches were some of the worst experiences I've ever had, my temmates were literally AI, it was a 1 v 6 basically for several games.

Zombies, a pleasant surprise: 7/10, I like the take on this one, haven't really played more than a handful of hours but it's a chill change of pace from SBMM, hopefully they will add content to keep up the engagement.

All in all this game is a 5.5/10. Campaign is trash, mp would be fun but SBMM and aim assist make for some miserable experiences, zombie is fun but alone doesn't save this dumpster fire of a game.

Buy this game only if you have PLENTY of free time and you absolutely have nothing else to play at the moment (which is why I haven't refunded yet)

It's with a heavy heart that I have to give this game a negative review. I love battlefield and I have been playing every title since BFBC2, sinking thousands of hours (and hundreds of $ as well) in the franchise, so when 2042 was announced I was super excited. The trailer was on point and I got so hyped thinking this would've been a BF3 but with near future settings but oh boy was I wrong.
Now, Battlefield launches are historically rocky, with performance, netcode and balance issues as well as bugs (at times game breaking ones), but over the course of the first 6-10 months the game becomes more and more polished, ensuring a good experience overall. With this being said I didn't jump into 2042 thinking the game would be polished and well optimized at launch (especially after the beta and the poor Dice's excuse of 'it's a months old build' lmao) and was willing to deal with the bullsh!t of a rocky launch as long as the game was true to its core gameplay. Which it absolutely wasn't.
Now for the real deal killer here: core features
This game just isn't battlefield for me. They wanted to force these specialists in the game as if I could care less about them given there's not even a single player campaign in a game that's clearly lacking content even in multiplayer.
There are no distinguishable factions in the multiplayer either. It's supposed to be Russia vs the US but it's just a bunch of Sundance and McKays going at each other with the only friend or foe ID being a chemlight that's red if they're enemies. Hell eve Halo Infinite has better visibility than this game.
This only breaks the atmosphere even more. Do you remember the iconic trench fights in WWI where you could clearly tell who you were fighting against? Do you remember wiping out a russian squad and arming an Mcom in Noshar canals? Do you remember blasting through american defences in Locker to get to the middle flag? All that is gone.
Then there's gunplay. I'm just gonna say bloom and random bullet deviation in 2022 (almost). That's such a stupid design choice especially in a game that FORCES 128 player and such huge maps and you literally can't even "git gud" with gunplay because it's RnG if you're gonna hit or miss.
The flow of the maps is horrible. 128 players was never meant to be in BF. The maps are designed for long range engagements with occasional choke points where infantry is able to fight. But have fun capping a flag and running for 2 minutes to the next objective just to get obliterated by a heli/bolte/hovercraft/tank/LAV.
No server browser. the only way to choose anything outside of the silly 128 players mode is portals, which since they nerfed farming servers, doesn't even count towards your unlocks most of the times.
Movement in this game feels like a f2p copy of MW2019, there just isn't weight or inertia to your characterand it feels like a downgrade from every other battlefield.
Vehicle balance is non existent. I've always been a jet player, with occasional tracked action and some rotary wing as well. I've never in my life seen worse flight models. Even GTAV has better flight mechanics than this game, it literally makes me want to uninstall right away (I'm proficient with it, inb4 git gud comments. I can easily dominate with 30 mils and AGM, it's just no fun to fly or dogfight).
The lack of content is appalling. There's like 20 guns to go through and as I stated earlier there's not even a campaign to play. I could care less about sp content but come on, if you cut content for a 70$ price tag, I want to have so many guns I can't even make up my mind on which one to use, not just 4 ars and 2 lmgs.

PERFORMANCE - IT'S SH!T. I think I'm one of the lucky few with a 3090, paired with a i9 10900k and this game runs like ASS in 2k. I'm averaging 100fps regardless of the settings. The game just doesn't properly use your system's resources. It's like pre alpha levels of bad optimization and for the price I've paid, I'm not willing to tolerate this.

If you're a fan of battlefield and have played the game for years now, KEEP AWAY. Don't give them any money for this dumpster fire of a game, so that they'll perhaps realize that this time they won't get away with half assed products.
It hurts to write all of this, because I know the love and passion some at dice put into this product and the hardships they have to endure to get these games out and how they're forced to meet deadlines by EA, but the state at which the game is launching is WAY below the acceptable line, even for a battlefield launch.

P.S. I haven't mentioned portals or hazard zone because I wanted to focus on the main game. Portal is fun but it's not, per se, a reason to buy this game, especially since older titles are more populated than portals servers.
Hazard zone is just a joke. Right now I believe you can't even find a match since there's no reason to play it, it's basically dead on arrival.

If you are a mouse and keyboard player and aren't willing to switch to controller, just stay away from this game. Try it for yourself in the f2p multiplayer and go watch some videos on how strong the aim assist is for controller. That paired with bullet magnetism means that if you miss a shot, the enemy will easily mop the floor with you just because the computer is tracking and aiming for them.
Take into account that sbmm is also present in this game, so have fun going against legal aimbots you can't opt out of (no, you can't disable crossplay)

I've held off a bit before reviewing this game, but I'll be honest, all the premises are there for this to become one of, if not THE, best WWII shooters on steam.

-- TL;DR version --

Providing great gunplay and immersion this game is the perfect balance between a tactical, teamwork oriented milsim game and a more fast paced arcade shooter, with the perfect mix of both mechanics that allow a perfect flow during the match. COMMUNICATING IS KEY, so if you plan to join a match and be silent all the way through, this game isn't just for you. If you want to hop in and be an active part of a team and love teamwork, we're waiting for you on the frontline.
I'd rate this game 9/10

-- FULL REVIEW --

First thing first, it's rewarding. Rewarding as every kill needs a thought process leading up to it, not rewarding as in 'Kill 10 players and call in a killstreak'. Positioning is king and you will quickly learn the difference between cover and concealment, planning your next bound carefully and actually maneuvering with your squad to find an effective way to get yourself on an advantage point.
Secondly, there's teamwork. Although I've had plenty of negative experiences with squad leaders who weren't on comms at all or were just non cooperating, I have to say that I've met some of the most helpful and cooperative players on steam in this game who went as far as forgiving a honest mistake on the artillery (while learning to use it) that lead to almost a loss. I will go as far as saying that in the right squad, with the right people, even losing is fun in this game because it doesn't feel like 90 wasted minutes when you go down fighting teeth and nails to stop the enemy advance.

All of this is possible because the game is solid. Yes, there bugs, sometimes you will get killed trying to mantle an obstacle where you'll get stuck on or you'll be let down by a center mass shot that you swore you landed but it was actually a limb shot (yea, looking at you tommygun) and will, consequently, get you killed, but overall the game is solid.
Guns, vehicles and factions are mostly balanced. Map design is solid as well, perhaps a bit lackluster for what concerns cover pieces in certain areas, but then again, that will lead to more interesting choices for maneuvering to take out the tank that's decimating your team and ultimately securing the foothold in that town across the snowy field.
The progression, then, shows real dedication. It takes quite a while to rank up to rank 10 for every class, but you can be certain that if somebody gets there, they know what they're doing and they'll be a force to be reckoned with if they're foes.

TTK wise, the game is brutal. Even though the movement and the gunplay isn't as realistic as squad or arma (recoil is pretty manageable, ads doesn't take ages, you can strafe while firing and still be somewhat effective), it usually takes 1 or 2 shots to kill your opponent, so this goes only to strengthen the importance of teamwork and coordination between squads, lonewolfing will get you nowhere, so get in the squad, listen to orders and be proactive as your role. That's the best way to enjoy this game.

Lastly, but not least important, devs always listen and communicate. With their frequent dev updates they truly show they care about their product and their community and this, backed by the countless positive reviews, shows that this game is destined to thrive and the devs are on track to make this a piece of art.

Can't wait to see what comes next, a big thanks to the devs for this great product!

As a lover of 2033 and Last Light, I couldn't try this game out as soon as I had the chance and boy oh boy I was not let down.
It was great going from the metro tunnels we're all accustomed to, to a wide open desert or a green vibrant forest. The story, as always, was great. Funny at times, sad others and sometimes even touching it kept me playing sitting on the edge of my seat. The visuals are stunning and this game truly shines during the 'sandbox-ish' type levels.
Bravo to the devs, game was a 9/10 for me. Strongly recommended for everyone who loves a story driven action game.
