Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Where Were We?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is out and once again we find ourselves in a world of brutal warfare. Warhorse Studios has taken everything that made the first game legendary and made it even better. A bigger world, deeper mechanics, a more refined combat system and most importantly, a story that feels more personal. Before I played the game, I replayed the first game, and the day the second game came out, I finished it and moved on to the second game. As someone who has played Kingdom Come Deliverance non-stop, I will give you details about the differences and improvements between the first game and the second game.

A Tougher and More Dynamic World
The first Kingdom Come game already raised the bar in terms of realism, but the sequel takes it even further. NPCs now actually act on their own schedule, unexpected events happen, and the consequences of everything you do become more apparent. Weather effects, detailed environmental design and the vast Bohemian landscape instantly draw you in. Realism is not limited to superficial details. Everything from how you dress to how you behave affects how people perceive you. NPCs remember your actions and react accordingly. It's not just an open world, it's a living world. You need to eat or your head will spin from hunger. If you don't sleep, you'll black out from lack of sleep. At the beginning of the game, we're left destitute and really taste the misery all over again. https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3445060176

War: More Organized, Smarter and More Rewarding
If you found the first game's combat system difficult, be prepared for this. The sequel further develops the complex medieval swordfighting mechanics. Combat is still methodical and skill-based - you can't win by randomly pressing buttons. You have to read your enemy's movements and attack at the right time. The reflex time for defense is a bit easier than in the first game, as the reflex time is lighter. Although the action part doesn't have much variety, it didn't bore me that much and I was able to finish the game. You can hit in 4 different directions and the goal is to do certain combos and chase counterattacks. The addition of new weapons, smarter enemy AI and improved animations make battles more fluid and intense. Every duel feels like a personal struggle, every battle hard won. There are no supernatural powers to save you - just skill, patience and strategy, maybe a little alchemy.

What without a fight? Persuasion and Reputation System
If you think you can't get blood on your hands, unfortunately this is not the case in Bohemia, where the blood flows non-stop. But you can get your hands a little less bloody. The game gives you the option to talk to and convince your enemies. The reputation system works like this: if you treat people well and don't commit crimes, your reputation increases, but if you treat people badly and commit crimes, it decreases. But don't think of it as I just killed NPCs and my reputation decreased. These parts of the game reminded me of Red Dead Redemption 2. There are detailed and varied NPC interactions like Rockstar Games did. For example, if you swear at a guard on the road instead of greeting him, your reputation can go down. Talking stupidly also lowers your reputation. Hypothetically speaking, if you ask a beggar to buy me dinner, your reputation will drop because it would be ridiculous and shameful. The game's reputation system works in exactly this way. You can't ask a cleric to commit adultery. This reputation system varies from region to region, you may be well received in one region and badly received in another depending on what you do. In regions with a high reputation, you will be treated like a saint, while in regions with a low reputation, you may be treated like a thief and searched just because you entered and left a peasant's house. Apart from all this, things like dirty clothes also affect your reputation. If you have just come out of a war, people may judge you for having blood on your hands and face. If you are very drunk, people may judge you for staggering when you walk. If your reputation has fallen too low, you can find a priest and go on a pilgrimage to absolve your sins and restore your reputation. Be careful though, this is Bohemia and people can be cruel.

Save and Punishment System
One of the things that makes the game challenging and realistic is the save system. You can't save the game whenever you want. For this, you must either spend a night in the inn, sleep in your allocated bed, or drink a drink called Schnapps. But don't sleep in people's houses. If you sleep in someone's bed without permission, you will be punished. Speaking of punishment, we should also mention the punishment system. In the first game, we were only imprisoned in a cell, but they have improved this system considerably. When the guards come, we can get rid of the crime by paying a fine. If we don't have enough money, as I mentioned before, we can also defend ourselves in various ways and convince them. For example, in one of my experiences, I was able to defend myself in a major crime I committed because I had developed my legal skills very much, and I was able to get away with it like a scholar. But sometimes there is no salvation at all, and when your money and persuasion skills are not enough, the penalties you can receive can be very severe. There are punishments such as waiting for hours under the pillory or execution for repeat offenses.

Blacksmithing and Alchemy
As the son of a blacksmith, this feature was a must. There is a great blacksmithing system that is very detailed. You can even make swords, axes, horseshoes. I will explain this system to you by giving an example of sword making. First we heat the sword by moving it in the blacksmith forge. When it turns straw yellow, we look at it to check, and if the color is not quite right, we heat it again. When we are done, we take the sword out of the furnace to forge the sword and forge the sword inch by inch, turning it if necessary, until it takes shape. If we cool it down, we will have to reheat it, which is not a good thing, and it is not good to hit the same place over and over again while making the sword. Depending on the strength of our strikes, that is, the intensity of the blows, we can get a better quality work. During blacksmithing Henry helps us with whistles and words of approval. The alchemy system is also very detailed and well done. This system, which was also in the first game, has more advanced animation effects and extra features. Like an alchemist, we can distill potions by pouring herbs and necessary liquids in a cauldron by reading from a book.

Privacy and Theft
Cursed with poverty, Henry has many ways to survive. One of them is stealing. While we were talking about the action part, there was one more aspect that we left out, stealth, which allows you to stealthily kill people and stay out of combat. You can sneak into people's houses, rob their pockets while they're sleeping, break into their safes, and move on. But if you do that, you might regret it later because you weren't a good Christian.

↓↓↓ Since my review is long, I had to write the conclusion in the comments, I would appreciate it if you read it. ↓↓↓

Kingdom Come: Deliverance - The Middle Ages at its purest

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is not an ordinary game for me. This game is a world that I have been playing for years, admiring every detail and getting lost in it. Now, with the announcement of the second game, I went on this unique journey again to remember the past, to relive those unforgettable memories. And once again, I realised that Kingdom Come: Deliverance is not just a game, but a true medieval experience.

A Realistic Medieval Journey
There is no magic in this game, no dragons, no hero chosen by prophecy. You're just Henry. A blacksmith's son. An unlucky and ordinary man. But that's exactly why the game draws you in. Because Kingdom Come throws you straight into the Middle Ages, but not as a hero, but as an ordinary person.

It's not easy to wear armour, nor is it easy to win a battle.
You're not born a swordsman, nor the son of a lord.
You really have to make an effort to survive.

At first you know nothing, you can do nothing. It takes days of effort to learn sword fighting. You need diplomacy when you talk to people. If you're hungry you have to find food, if you're tired you have to sleep, if your clothes get dirty people treat you differently. Every mechanic in the game is designed to make you feel like you're in the real world.

Story: A Tale of Revenge But More
When you first start the story, everything seems to fit into a certain cliché: You lose your family, you want revenge. But Kingdom Come doesn't treat things as a simple ‘revenge journey’. This game develops you, matures you. Henry's story is not just about avenging your losses, it's about finding out who you are.

Each character has a personality. The dialogues are not ordinary, but impressive. The choices you make mean much more than just completing a mission. Because Kingdom Come gives you the feeling that you are really living, not ‘playing a game’.

Atmosphere: This World Breathes
In the play, nothing is random. Bohemia's vast forests, villages, castles... everything is based on real historical data. Walking through the fields at sunrise, entering a town at first light, getting drunk in an inn, watching people praying in a church...

These are not ‘details in the play’, the play itself. There is no story written for you here. You are the one living the story.

And the music... Music that makes you feel the spirit of the Middle Ages to the bone... The atmosphere of the game is so strong that sometimes it is enough just to go up a hill and watch the surroundings.

War and Challenge: A True Challenge
As for the combat system... Don't expect a system based on reflexes like Dark Souls. Here there is a heavier, more methodical, more technical combat system. You really need to learn how to use a sword. Reading your opponent's moves, finding your opening, adjusting your timing...

Every fight is a lesson, every loss is a teacher.

If you want to dive headlong into your enemies, forget it. Kingdom Come will show you the brutality of war. And because of that, every battle you win, every new skill you learn, will give you a real sense of accomplishment.

Minuses? Maybe, But Do They Matter?
Low Entry Threshold:
The game is cruel to beginners, a detailed guide mode would be nice.
Some Missions Can Get Long:
Especially in research-based missions, the feeling of ‘where do I go?’ can sometimes be too long.

But none of these can overshadow the experience the game offers. Because this game is not trying to be perfect. It tries to be realistic.

Conclusion: It's Not Just a Game
Kingdom Come: Deliverance for me is not a game, it's a memory, an experience, a transformation. I've played it for years, each time I've tried different paths, made different decisions and lived in this world.

Now the second game has been announced and I'm back in this world once more. To remember. To live again. To breathe that historical atmosphere once again, to get lost in the valleys of Bohemia and to see where the journey I started as a blacksmith's son would lead.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is not just a game. It's a history lesson. A simulation of life. An experience.

And when the second game comes out, I'm ready to disappear again.

‘’Next time I won't run away. I'll never run away again. I'll find who did this. I remember his face. I'll find him.’ - Henry

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is a true test of patience. You control a man trapped in a boiler and a character trying to climb to the top of a mountain with a hammer. It may seem simple at first, but the more you play, the more you realise that this game is actually a ‘zen experience’.

Gameplay
One tool: Hammer. One goal: Summit.
Physics-based mechanics are sometimes friend, sometimes foe.
If you fall, you're back to square one. All over again.

Pros:
✅ Simple but deep mechanics
✅ Bennett Foddy's calm but sarcastic narration
✅ Awakens a fighting spirit against adversity

Cons:
❌ It can be torture for those with a low patience threshold

Conclusion
Getting Over It isn't just a game, it's also a test. You may get frustrated, give up and even glare at your monitor. But the triumph you feel when you reach the top makes it all worth it.🪓🏔️

Hell Let Loose: The Realistic Face of War and Its Technical Limits

Hell Let Loose is a multiplayer FPS game that aims to present World War II in a realistic way. However, it encounters some significant obstacles in achieving this goal.

Realism and Mechanics
The game's battle atmosphere is successful; the gunfire, the design of the maps and the team-based structure make you feel the chaos of war. However, some mechanics undermine this realism:

Tank Mechanics:
The tank mechanics fail to fully deliver on the game's promise of realism. The inability of heavy armored tanks to overcome small mounds, break simple fences, and the historically inaccurate turret rotation speeds significantly limit their effectiveness on the battlefield. These mechanics undermine the game's strategic depth, preventing tanks from reflecting the power and intimidation they deserve.

Crew Equipment:
The tank crew carrying only pistols does not align with the realism of warfare; adding different submachine guns could make this situation more logical.

Hitbox Problems:
The reliance of light tanks on heavy tank fire and inconsistencies in the damage system reduce the strategic depth of the game.

Optimisation and Performance Issues:
The optimisation of the game has serious problems:
FPS drops even on high-end systems.
It can take up to 5-10 minutes to connect to the server.
The game's technical infrastructure undermines the long-term gaming experience.

Servers and Community Management:
Official servers are almost abandoned.
Community servers, on the other hand, are sometimes biased and arbitrary bans can negatively impact the player experience.

Atmosphere and Map Design:
The strongest part of the game is the map design and atmosphere. The maps, where historical regions are modelled in detail, offer the player an impressive battle experience.

Conclusion
Hell Let Loose offers a unique World War II experience when played with the right team and strategy. However, optimisation issues and server problems cast a shadow on the game's potential.

Pros:
Excellent atmosphere and map design
Team-play orientated strategic structure
Sound design and combat feel

Cons:
Poor optimisation and performance issues
Inconsistent mechanics and hitbox problems
Server and community management deficiencies
High price tag

The game that shaped the entire gaming world

The ‘growth and transformation’ journey of a young man named Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Set in the Renaissance period of Italy, you witness both historical events and a personal adventure. The game, which offers the player an adventure full of family, revenge and secrets, allows you to bond with the character.
Ezio's maturation as an assassin over time manifests itself not only in missions, but also in dialogues and character relationships. The main strength of the story is the emotional bonds and the depth it adds to the Assassin's Creed universe.

Comparison
Major Improvements from the First Game
You may remember the repetitive mission structure of Assassin's Creed 1: Listen, gather information, kill. AC2 completely breaks this formula and offers a variety of missions.

Farewell to the Repetitiveness of the First Game:
Each mission contains a different story element. Not only killing, but also chasing, stealing information and even escaping gives a different flavour.

Character Development:
While Altair is a more distant character, Ezio's warmth and humour draws the player in. Ezio's personality adds both weight and fun to the story.

Atmosphere and Map:
Instead of the gloomy Middle Eastern atmosphere of the first game, the vibrancy and diversity of Renaissance Italy is presented. Florence, Venice, Tuscany... Each city is like a work of art.

Gameplay
The game not only takes the dynamics of the series to the next level, but also serves as the ancestor of different future standalone games.

Skills and Equipment:
Ezio's ability to use tools such as double knives, poison knives, and even small arms in addition to the hidden knife diversifies assassination strategies.

Economic System:
Money can be used to buy armour, weapons and even upgrade your villa to make an impact in the game world. This gives the game an RPG feel and allows you to visually feel Ezio's development.

Parkour:
The parkour system is now much faster and more dynamic. Combined with the architecture of the cities, jumping from roof to roof is a pleasure.

Shortcomings
Assassin's Creed 2 is a great game, but not without its flaws:

Combat Mechanics:
Enemies are still very passive; they usually wait for you and take turns attacking you. This makes the fights easier and more predictable after a certain point.

Optimisation Issues:
On PC, the game's optimisation is seriously troublesome. In some places, FPS drops and strange performance issues can undermine your enjoyment. A game this great should have been better optimised.

Conclusion
Assassin's Creed II was an adventure that I connected with wholeheartedly. Ezio Auditore da Firenze felt like a real person, not just a character. As he embraced his family, his friends and his mission in the story, I lived this world with him.

As for the feather collecting mission... Everyone may think ‘Is it worth all this trouble?’ but for me, this mission was all about Ezio's mum. The family theme is so strong in the game that you feel that you are serving something even while collecting feathers. Ezio's small gesture for his mother shows how deep and emotional a character he is. And that's why every one of those feathers was precious.

And the beauty of the cities... Florence, Venice, Tuscany... Everywhere I travelled offered me not just a world of play, but life itself. While the friendship with Leonardo da Vinci added a different flavour to the story, witnessing Ezio's transformation from a young man to an assassin was an unforgettable experience.

This game is a production that not only entertains but also makes you think and feel. Of course it has its shortcomings, but the impression it leaves is so strong that you ignore those shortcomings.

"As an old friend of mine once said, 'We work in the dark to serve the light. We are Assassins.'"
