Gorgeous Taopunk artstyle with good storytelling and pacing. Nine Sols is a more of a 2D Sekiro-like than a Metroidvania, although it certainly has some elements of a MV, such as ability gating, platforming but quite limited in exploration. Combat is excellent, and the skill ceiling is quite high especially for some bosses. It's a blasphemy that this isn't even nominated for indie game of the year in Game Awards 2024.
