From the impression I got this is solely a one-man project and for that,it seems pretty good. This review is thorough,by the way.

It seems raw and unrefined at some points,the gunfights are either you holding a hostage and just popping heads or you peeking around a corner with a rifle,outsmarting a somewhat basic AI...else you just get swarmed.

The guns feature some variety,but it feels more like the one creating them couldn't figure out how to alter some values,only the projectile type,the 1911 and the magazine-fed shotgun in particular.

Lighting feels particularly bright in some areas,worse if you're sprinting with the 1911,as it uses a chrome finish (nickel would be better,trust me on that one).

The jobs do feel well made,but they're not designed to be intuitive. For example,you play the tutorial,learn how to tie down a hostage and make them hand over the money. Great. It doesn't teach you about the AI behaviour when using hostages as shields or how to deal with SWAT,especially their shields or keypads in later levels.

Response times feel out of proportion,you barely take a hostage and you can hear sirens,by the time you go deal with the first response,in some jobs you have SWATs at the ready right behind them.

Animations could use a little polish,although I like the one at the beginning of every job. Some NPCs seem like they're lacking some animations.

Else I feel like it could be great,the only actual problems I have with it is how combat and guns feel and behave.

There's not much of a story but a whole lot of gameplay.

Best played with friends,solo can become boring.

No building is ever the same...except maybe apartments.


Solid game otherwise.

It wasn't bad,but I'm glad I'll never play it again.

Had some interesting features,but I really didn't find much to enjoy in it.Probably just me.

Disclaimer for those that played Hitman 2016:You get free access to the previous levels,but have to play through them to get the gear again and the same goes for the suits from Elusive Targets.

Second disclaimer:you don't need the Legacy Pack for good gear,there is 'Mark 2' gear that's literally the same except with a red square on the side with a white 2 on it or other equivalents to the gear you'd expect.

I enjoyed Hitman 2016 and I do enjoy this as well,especially Mumbai.I haven't played it through entirely yet,but I like where it's going with the story and gameplay.The addition of the briefcase is also a great addition.That's all I can really say,see for yourself if you like the game with the demo,it's free after all.

If I could use only one word to describe this game it would be:Guns.That´s what makes this game great mostly,it has over a thousand different guns,all with different attributes about them that make them unique (like scopes,damage types,increased damage,etc).It also has a storyline,but that´s more a thing on the side as you spend most of the time walking around,shooting stuff.

The AK17 is a minor upgrade to the AK .762,the Grom Sniper Rifle stands out with concealment and otherwise nothing and the Tatonka SMG does not excel at doing its job either.It is a ready-for-deployment kit in combination with the Spec Ops Pack and the Courier Mod DLC for the mentioned guns here don´t take many attachments by default.The achievements are awful too.This DLC would be worth a quarter of what they charge for it at best.

I find this game rather addictive.It has a nice soundtrack and the gameplay in overall is enjoyable,though those that played the first game might be a little disappointed that the ranking system and the overall playstyle has been changed.Combat is more based on gunfights,partially through windows,rather then melee (though melee still will award more points).Executions are still satisfying.The achievements are decent enough to be done,the Genocide achievement with dedicated gameplay.The fastest playthrough I managed to do was about 108 minutes in one session.The story only makes sense as whole if you played the first game,so make sure you played Hotline Miami first if you´re here for the story.
So to conclude this,it is a solid game for those who like a challenge or were a fan of the first game.A helpful trick for the Writer´s Levels:If you play non-lethally you can use melee to knock out opponents and pick up guns,that will be emptied and add points as well as one point to your current combo,for a better score.I nominated this game for the "Five more minutes" Award.
