The thing is, with all the explosions and general chaos that's happening in the game, judging from the trailer, it could get confusing.

MrFutago87 thanks a lot for your support! Actually in all the boss fight the camera is zoomed out by a factor of 2 and it works pretty well so we are considering extending this feature to some specific level or part of them. We had have discussed this topic with the whole team several times already . At the moment the ratio character dimension/ camera size is very close to the one implemented in Metal slug but we are willing to start a pool with the community about possible changes on the game and if we have enough vote on that matter we will change it accordingly. A Jim Sterling video review would be so awesome! I have also sent him a message... finger crossed!
