Absolutely love it, good amount of grind, PvP encounters can turn in any direction and players are generally genuinely friendly, even when you get killed.

PvE:
A lot of fun and genuinely nice AI and fun encounters. Small as well as big enemies feel like a danger and the loot is often a surprise.

PvP:
Due to enemies being hard, PvP doesn't always end up in a firefight but as often as not, turn into collaboration. I find that often running alone is more peaceful. PvP battles are fun and can turn any which direction and tactics, good item use and luck turn any fight into a win or a loss.

And even when you lose, it is rarely a disaster and you can recover without grinding again a lot.

Crafting:
Overall nice and frequent without feeling nasty. A lot of loot at times feels like sell loot but turns out isn't, which makes inventory a bit of a pain to manage,

Story:
Exciting and wanna know more!

I could go on, but 33 hours in, I can see myself playing more than the 500 hours I have in HD2.

Been enjoying the game all through Early Access and before. While some criticism of content lack is surely valid, the developers have consistently provided improvements, new content and have been very pro-active with the community.

Is the game as complete as say Ashes of Creation that has been around now for 10 years? No, and that's not a fair comparison anyway. Is there a clear path forward for new content, new gear, new enemies, new social systems. Absolutely!

The crafting system is involved, and has a good grind and it definitely got better over the past years. There are many professions and nobody can be a master in all of them quickly. There are hundreds of recipes and is built around a collaborative process. Trading is a big part of this. EDIT: Just wanted to point out, that whoever made this, you are a genius! Considering how many recipes there are, all sorts of items and the whole balance, despite grindy, this is the best I have ever seen in any MMO.

Building is good fun and very creative if you are into that. and the only thing that really helps to own your own plots or a guild that provides ample space for it.

Dungeons feel huge, however still a bit incomplete and will get some more promised love in future. The world is very pretty and hunting is something

Combat has seen many changes over the past year and is in a good place. It is now so solid, that it can support more complexity in future which is planned for.

PvP, which is optional, got a big revamp and more is to come in the next months as per roadmap as of this writing. I am not big on PvP, but the way it is now is enjoyable and it will become even more meaningful.

The world feels huge, sometimes a bit too big, but fast travel and in the future promise of horses will shrink it quickly.


About subscription:

I see a lot of people complaining about it, and folks seems to forget that it was always said that most likely it will come with a subscription. Now the devs allow to play the game without one! Which is awesome. And it can be done just fine. So what you do NOT get if you play without a sub is, no owning your own plot. But then again you do NOT need one. This is a social MMO and you will most likely belong to a group of players. You can use all regular crafters on ANYONES plot. You can still build on plots that are open to guild members and have your own chest there etc. Building is quite an expensive server system, hence it is gated with a sub and that's fair.

And if you really want to play plot-less (Which I have done over 100 hours of), you can. After the market stall upgrade, you can simply BUY what you need and don't need to rely on having a plot. The storage at Petra Dei was enough.

So if you will enjoy a game that puts a LOT of emphasis on social interactions, create your own adventure, are willing to see it grow and change over the coming years, this is for you.

If instead you are looking for a guided experience through Quests and is basically a giant rpg theme park, then go play something else.

Great fun, the new weapons pack a punch and the new job is great. A few rough spots but also good improvement on DLC1.

At the price (espcially discount) a good value for money and sure fire future updates make it worth it for me. See future Rogue Like mode that is coming. Proves to me this is a game that despite not being a smash hit, it here to stay.

Is it the best game out there? Nah, it is fun? Absolutely!

Wish there was more: maps, guns, kits and enemies. But even with whats there it is highly enjoyable and a solid experience. Again, this is a game I can enjoy for 50-80 hours easily and can go beyond that for sure. Play less than that and it is still super fun.

What a wonderfully peaceful game. I have already played the demo and have been following the development for a while. The game has a lot of love and attention to detail. It is quite impressive what a single dev with dedication could achieve.

Loading times are a bit long, but thats on the roadmap to fix. If you are new to city builders, this might be a rough start but if you have a bit of patience, it is well worth it. By far one of the best builders I have ever played!
