I have a bunch of hours in this game for a reason.

Tactical, immersive, quick, thorough, action heavy, this game leaves much of the approach up to you beyond "You have to kill these specific guys and get out".

It's at first very imposing and even punishing, but actually extremely forgiving and generous once you know which way is up.

All the weapons feel unique enough, to a degree you feel like Mr. Softproducts might've went through a process of slimming down the arsenal at some point in conception because even guns that feature similarly at face value have key functionality differences that make their application different, which is generally what you want out of any arsenal in a game like this.

To me what feels special is that, barring specific circumstances, you can completely ignore unlocking new weapons and get the job done with your starting weapons in most levels.

Augments are a bit more important if you're not running crazy weapons, but as YouTube will show you, there are plenty of people who've cracked the code on stock weapons, no augments, HOPE ERADICATED difficulty S rank runs, or worse. I'm not one of those players, I like to experience more of the violence when I play, because gunplay in this game, while not exactly good for your survival, can be quite fun.

A game that's reputation may be funny memes and crazy textures, but that's so, so much more than that. It demands something of you, be it patience, mechanical skill, finesse or advancing your options.

Engaging gameplay experience, quite literally 500+ hours of mind pumping action. Would recommend.

Hey-hey, time to edit my review yet again because I've now beaten it many times and feel my old review doesn't reflect my full viewpoint on the game now.

This game, for all its difficulty, kicks ass and can be streamlined to become nonstop action until you run out of stuff to do on a character, at which point it isn't unfun to start a new one, potentially on a different class, and see how you can either further optimize your run, or see how many quests you can complete without icing important characters to other quests too early, or just mess around collecting weapons and V-Stalker parts.

For starters,
There's six classes to choose from, each of which with a very different spread of stats, stats which effect your gameplay in quite grandiose ways potentially. Each class feels roughly as capable as each other, and each one can be used to beat the game in under thirty minutes if you know where to go.

Money is fragile in this game. If you die you drop your entire bank account, and if you die again before it's picked back up, it vanishes. This is alleviated slightly by the fact that you can slowly put money into the stock market one transaction per day, but imo is even more alleviated by the fact that it's almost never a truly bad idea to dump money into upgrading your stats, or buying equipment. Every shot you fire also costs money, but going into debt isn't much of an issue once you learn where your most charitable lenders of currency can be found.

This makes it so that finding or buying your way into a robust mech, body armor, a helmet, and lethal weaponry, are a must for the early game during your first run, but become less and less of a must the more you understand the enemies and their placement. The lethal weaponry is less necessary on some classes over others, but there's ample of it to find merely by making your way through the world. Body armor is far from the only way to play.

Over-all I would say it's a fun and even kind of addicting experience blowing through this games world and haplessly murdering every quest-giver in sight for their money if you're so inclined. Squishing pedestrians in your mech is also a fun pass-time and costs no money.

This chapter introduced arguably the funniest killer in the game, who's ironically the most realistically written serial killer in the game.
Kate's also okay.

10/10, would descend into asthmatic fits of laughter all over again.

I remember four years ago or so when I bought the game using Christmas earnings, and it took me three years to even be able to run it. Just this year, got a PC hefty enough to do so.
That said, was it worth the wait?
Not nearly.

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that a "toxic" community is a huge problem in of itself, it really isn't, and people who act like it is likely invest too much time in chat/forums over the gameplay itself.
However,
What is, objectively, a problem, is the devteam only listening to one side of the toxic community, but only listening to them on balance changes and continuing forward with their ass-backwards decisions that aren't directly impacting the game itself, stuff like PR management. Either listen to the community or don't, but don't only hear out half of the community on balance they have literally no idea about while you shut your ears entirely on everything else they talk about.

Now, I could talk for hours about how BHVR's design is inherently survivor-sided, with it being a 4v1 and all where the 4 team just has to scatter and hold M1 while occasionally tapping spacebar.
I could talk about how it's the increasingly entitled survivor side of the community they listen to, who seem to think that they should be effortlessly afforded victory (even more than they already are) simply for having purchased the game and choosing the team that doesn't have a literal weapon.
I could talk about how the resulting effect is already weak killers being made even weaker via nerfing their Ultra Rare add-ons, even if those add-ons aren't particularly broken or even strong, just because some random survivor player somewhere tweeted at BHVR saying they don't like playing against it, even though killer players have to endure a slew of completely unfun gameplay inherently because they chose to play killer, making killer META more and more enclosed and restrictive.
I could even talk about how "face camping" isn't a viable strat if the survivors genrush and don't just throw themselves aimlessly at the person being camped,

But literally none of those are the root problems with Dead by Daylight.
They're a symptom of the disease that BHVR has mutated into.
And I'm sure, intrepid reader, that you'll probably read all of that and hand-wave it away, think to yourself or aloud, "You're just a filthy killer main, you don't know anything about anything besides how to tunnel and camp", but that's missing or ignoring the point entirely.

This isn't a Survivor V Killer issue.
This is a development issue.
And it's a crying shame, because DbD has such good bones, such solid lore, such an interesting core concept, but it's impossible to ignore all the glaring, crater-sized issues in how it's being run.

TL;DR, spend your money on a game that won't take what you bought and nerf it into the ground within a week of a single person complaining about it.
I'm fully willing to face an onslaught of tribalists ignoring the core point and rabidly dissecting my thought-crimes against the Church of Survivor, and I'll even hear them out, but for those of you willing to read objectively, comments are open, discussion is encouraged.

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥' amazing. Very easy to feel the Blood influence in it, as well as it's Quake-style movement shooter type movement, but it cranks it all up to 11 and has really fluid combat. Wish DuskWorld would come back.

I wonder if they realize that actually NSFW content is allowed on Steam now. Hmm...

Regardless, censors aside, I really enjoyed this game. The characters are all pretty sweet to interact with, especially Lex, was it? Can't remember. They're all written fairly well, though if I'm being honest, a mosiac censor would've been highly preferred to what we got. I'm not even big into yiff or anything, but hell if it doesn't make actually achieving things really.. Boring. Like, seriously, it's really obnoxious. BUT, that aside, if you just want a good dating game with anthropomorphic furry characters that are all pretty distinctive, I recommend this game. OH, and hey, it's free, so nothing was lost anyways besides time.

I absolutely love this game. It may be pretty old news at this point, but in this case, old can be gold. Granted, it would be nice if the original Eight Pages game were on Steam too, but that's another thing entirely.
What I like about this game in particular is that it may be just another "throw a popular monster at a faceless protagonist" type of game, but it does actually have a story, unlike the aformentioned Eight Pages. The story itself isn't bad, either. But over all, the best thing about this game would have to be it's graphics and sound design. If you wear headphones, given the right setting this game can definitely immerse you in the experience of being stalked by the Tall Faceless Diddler himself, and the detailed ambients and scores can send shivers up your spine and then some.
Over all, if I had to do the generic 1-10 rating scale, I'd give this game an 8/10.

But, where does it fall short? Two letters for you: A.I. And the ones in this game can be pretty derpy at times, pardon the good ole 2012 meme slang. For instance, occasionally if you sit there behind a generator in the Mine level, The Chaser will run up to it, stop dead in front of it, and stare at you for a minute before up and running off, and a similar glitch can be done to Slenderman himself in this level. But that's just a personal example.

Once again, this is in fact a good game, and I would definitely recommend it. It's worth the ten bucks.

One of the most popular online action games of all time, indeed. This is the predecessor to my favorite game of all time, so how can I not like it? Without this, Team Fortress 2 probably wouldn't even exist. But to the point, the game on it's own merit isn't bad, if you can ignore the dated graphics.

A pretty nice and challenging game. It ♥♥♥♥♥♥' sucks when you freeze to death then your computer freezes, but potatoes.
