Goated game, soundtrack is insanely good (if you listen to it outside the game, you know it's great) and the visuals are a delight to the eyes. Man I wish more games looked like this, it's a treat... The only con to this is it's so short! Thank goodness there's more soon!

I liked the idea of this game, seemed like some of my favourite games mixed together and I could get behind that. Man it's hard to enjoy when it's this clunky though. Here are my thoughts on different aspects. TLDR near the bottom.

First of all, the control is slow and tedious. Placing anything felt like a chore and really fiddly... There's not really a flow to navigating your inventory and placing things down. Having to equip the item I wanted to place into a machine felt really weird too. Then destroying your builds or making adjustments is like pulling hairs. Movement is just as slow as placement and inventory management.

The life sim and factory sim clash in all the worst ways. For example, your research is done by sluggishly walking into town, speaking with the research lady in the building, getting the resources and then trudging back. Sure, this makes sense, and sure can be automated, but it wasn't fun. Then after setting it all up, you've finished the research, but the lady at the research desk has left for the night... Meaning you need to walk all the way back to your bed, sleep, walk back to the research lady then finally you can progress. Painful.

I didn't get far enough to need to speak to the townsfolk on the regular, like you do Stardew. However, if I did need to get anything out of it, holy cow I could see it getting tedious. It's neat and all having this nice sprawling town, but not when there are multiple plates to spin... One major one being your factory, which can run into problems the same as any other factory game.
Speaking of the factory, while I was attempting to automate some basic machines like conveyors and inserters, I had to sleep... It interrupts your flow and is very annoying to deal with. This I could only see getting worse as I'd have to build more complex setups and having sleep interrupt that flow each time? No thanks.

TLDR? The game feels sluggish and tedious. The day constraints and having to sleep just makes the slow gameplay worse.

Advice to the devs, re-organise the town and let the player move faster/add a sprint. Overhaul the feel of the inventory, take some notes from other factory games. The game has a lot of potential, make some quality of life changes and it will do well. For now, I can't recommend this...

Really fun game! The style is deceptive!
Combines Portal 2 custom chambers with a sick and twisted Quake/Mad Max vibe. While you solve puzzles like Portal, you also need to dodge traps and monsters trying to stop you from looting the treasure.
Alternatively, you can build your own puzzling death traps. Theres a lot of flexibility in design and traps you can set up. It slowly introduces you to traps as you play more.
If you like puzzles but also building your own this is a great pickup!. Even if you just want to do one or the other, still a great game to mess around with!

Maybe I'm the wrong audience for this. I was expecting something a little less hardcore and more arcadey.
An arcade mode would've been neat.
Plus an option to use VR controllers with the game. I was expecting to be able to at least use the menus and drive with the control sticks. Nothing. Need a standard controller or wheel to play. Disappointing.

Neat game to relax with.
Farming is fun and finding all the different things you can make with your produce is fun. Eventually you just spam kegs though. The social aspect of the game is interesting too. Just wish it was a bit more in depth than just talking to the characters every day. Would be nice if they asked more about you or you could ask them about things, the stuff the NPCs say are pretty inconsequential outside of star events.
If only it could be real and farming was this easy.

If you're looking for a VR game that is a bit of a workout, this is perfect.
Lots of great tracks, you can actually dance to them, can't say I've found this in other VR rhythm games. Plus the modding scene is pretty active with lots of great content to extend the game further!
Personally, I'd say this is a must buy if you have a VR headset and enjoy rhythm games!

I can once again recommend it but, exercise caution.

The developers of this game are wonderful. They've built an excellent game that is super fun and challenging. The music is great, the gunplay is great... It's all perfect. Plus, you aren't fleeced at every turn by microtransactions! I have absolutely no problem with them and if it was just them making the decisions, I believe the game would be flawless.

HOWEVER. Sony, the publishers of this game, have been proven to be a horrific tumour on an otherwise excellent game.
They have tried to ruin the game by enforcing linking with PSN that is a flawed game network. Despite the game working fine without PSN on PC.
I think it may only be a matter of time until Sony may do something else to ruin this game.
Buyer beware.

What can I say about this game that hasn't already been said? Just get it doofus

I don't know if my headset (Oculus S) is supported or not but there was no indication it wasn't.
The game boots to a blank screen with an empty box. My controllers didn't even appear or anything, I ensured everything was good to go as I've had a few issues before.
Still nothing, verified files and everything. Nada.
Quality I'd expect from EA. Don't bother.

Isn't really a cooking simulator, its more of a follow the recipe simulator. You need to do things by the book or just give up and goof off. I have plenty of games for goofing off in VR...
There are more fun experiences to get in VR.
