The Gunk was pretty alright, gameplay wise. It's nothing special and not all that challenging, but I do like to clean up levels and see them change for the better. Story and characters are a bit cringe though, and 4 fingered humans make me gag.

100% completed in 6 hours. I suggest getting it on sale.

Cute and relaxing minimalist city builder with a light puzzle element that unfortunately didn't really do it for me. I got bored with it quickly, though that is on me. Personally I prefer something like Dorf Romantik.

Creative little eerie puzzle adventure that in some ways reminded me of Alan Wake. Same vibe I guess.
If only it was in VR (as well).

Together with the well crafted 50's sci-fi atmosphere, I really enjoyed my time with the book feeling story telling of 'the Invincible' and it made it hard for me to put down. On that alone it is a recommendation from me to anyone looking for the same.

However, in my first 15 minutes with this interactive mystery I was already not liking the amount of handholding the game seems to be doing right of the bat.
I've immidiately started fidling around with the interaction settings trying to find a good balance between figuring things out myself by exploring, and being told exactly what to do. And so far as I can tell it's either having all there is to interact with clearly on screen, effectively being told what to do step by step, or have nothing pop on screen at all and basically leaving me in the dark. Like, you can highlight what I'm looking at when i'm looking at it if it's interactable or even hint at it in a clever way, I just don't like having everything spoonfed. Point & Click adventures used to do this so well. What happened?

This game just keeps going and going, even when I'm collecting coins in places where I feel I shouldn't be able to.

If you like shooters and adventurous platformers, get it.

Very short little indie puzzler with the difficulty dialed all the way down so not to challenge the creative side of your (young) adult brain too much. For those looking for something light hearted to pass the time with, or the very young ones intrigued by how things work, this will most likely hit the spot together with its warm, pastel coloured artstyle and Hallmark'esk storytelling. Though if you're like me, a regular mister fix it, Assemble With Care will barely scratch that problem solving itch and leave you with a "was that it?" feeling. It was only until the epilogue where it started to get interesting for me, which unfortunately was only one bonus puzzle.

A 7 out of 10 from me and a recommendation for you who is looking for a very casual puzzle game with a story folded around it to kill a couple of hours with.

PS: Where did she get all the parts from so last minute anyways?

I was in a ♥♥♥♥ position once on top of that damn dam. I remember it like it was the day before yesterday. I was minding my own business, looking for a way to get some supplies dropped in when suddenly someone surprised me by taking shots at me, so I dove inside the next best thing for cover, a rinkydink old shed along side the edge of the dam. When he revealed himself I realised he had a much better position over me, basically cornering me while I couldn't really counter my attacker effectively either with what I had on me. He seemed to realise that too when I told him not to shoot and his response being a grenade to the other side of the shed. With not many options left, I spotted a wasp/hornet in the distance not that far behind him and I took the risk by shooting at it to draw its attention to our position. Feller was about to rush me too so I popped the small smoke grenade I'd found in my pocket earlier, climbed through the shed's window and bolted past him, running along the side of the dam looking for a way down that didn't involve me painting the ground below red. A few shots grazed my shield before turning a corner and I just kept going, thinking he was right on my tail. The gunfire that followed answered that questioning fear loud and clear because those shots were no longer directed at me, nor was it my emergency flare that shot up in to the sky moments later while I was sliding down a steep slope towards the loud sounds of a ascending elevator.
I made it out that day with a dog collar for scrappy and someone else didn't.

The good:
- Enemy AI is topnotch. Problably because it is controlled by actual AI.
- Atmospheric world design, artstyle and soundtrack with it's Retro sci-fi vibe.
- Action and firefights can be tense but very rewarding.
- Looks good and runs great, even on older hardware.
- You're gonna make new friends...

The not so good:
- ...but also the worst of enemies.
- Can't rock a beard. Character creation is barebones and very limited.
- For a paid title it's leaning a bit much on a cosmetics store instead of unlocking them by just playing.
- Some things are AI generated and at times I can tell.

Now this is a difficult one for me, one where Steam's black & white recommendation symstem really shows its limitations and I don't know whether to give this game a thumbs up or down. I will give it the benefit of the doubt however and recommend Dune: Awakening to anyone who is looking for the next open world survival game who is also very much in to either Dune or sci-fi fantasy.
Sadly this is not the case for me, at least not with this game. I am very much in to Sci-fi and the Dune franchise does tickle my fancy, but the crafting & survival gameplay loop together with action role playing expierence just didn't leave a good impression on me. It all works fine, I guess, but to me it all just felt bland and repetative. The combat, the exploration, locations, the interactions, the story, it was all very méh and after about 3 hours with the game I felt there was nothing that made me want to get back in to it, and if content isn't able to have that initial hook in to me then that for me is a clear indicator it's not for me. Which is a shame because I really thought I was going to like this game.
Anyways , take from this what you will and I hope you will have a better experience with it.

As a young boomer I love this game just for the nostalgia alone. So yeah, I am biased. But Platinum has objectively done right by G1 Transformers and it's fans with simple but fun gameplay, fan service and amazing aesthetics that faithfully brings your childhood back to life in an interactive way. And it's such a shame too that this game and the war for Cybertron series has been delisted from all digital storefronts and hasn't been 'fixed' since all for something stupid as licensing issues. This is precisely why we need to fight for preservation of the things we love.
