Troika may not have the best track-record for putting out the most stable games, but they certainly have a handle on excellent writing and storytelling. The unofficial patch takes care of nearly all the bugs and restores additional content that was left out of the retail release. RPG elements are implemented a bit differently than most RPGs, in that xp is only awarded for completing quests, so there's no grinding involved, or even leveling (as xp is used to increase stats). The variety of vampire 'clans' that can be played provide a high replay value, as the dialogue options and events vary depending on which you choose. If you enjoy the subject matter, this is definitely a recommended purchase.
