The negative reviews are from those that went in expecting a space simulator like NMS or Elite Dangerous. Game runs smooth and I’ve had no crashes in the 40+ hours played. I mean you can spend hours exploring a single planet if you wanted to, or building your base, or building your ship… Bringing in NASA has led to amazing aesthetics of suits, cities, bases, ships, and the planets. The music/soundtrack is amazing.

The main story is good, but the side quests and stories shine here just like any Bethesda RPG. This is closer to Oblivion than Skyrim, and it’s in space with probably the best combat system Bethesda has put out.

The only downside is the local map system (not the Galaxy Map). I am a fan of both Elite Dangerous and No Man’s Sky, and Bethesda (and NASA) did an awesome job with Starfield.

Great game. I just don't get why the last mission isn't playable in co-op.

I bought this when it was on sale just to mess around. The loading times are horrendous but that's not the worst part. The game itself is just a "demo", meaning if you actually want to play more than 2/3 routes then you'll have to purchase the DLC. The DLC themselves cost more than an actual train.
