You're a young'un that's been given a sad news of a passing relative, your grandfather. You visit him on a small town where you grew up in BUT everything's all wrong.

PROS
+ A very unique pastel-like art style that is the highlight of the game. Game zooms in on pictures, mirrors, and other interactable portraits that transforms it into a whole new horror. At times, I felt like I was in a painting.
+ It combines psychological horror into a light survival horror since you can pretty much skip combat 90% of the time.
+ Atmosphere is also one of the Mundaun's highlight where you feel dread right at the start. Everything feels off.
+ Story is really good too. Come to think of it, you can't really have good horror with a poorly written story. No really big twists but the story hooks as soon as you set foot in the game. It's a bit on the short side though.
+ The game has 4 endings and gives you instances of making choices; it's a sandbox with hubs where you can explor while you complete tasks inside your journal.
+ Music and sound effects are great. Combines a lot of swedish folk in there that makes it beautiful as well as dreadful at the same time.

? Puzzles are actually very rare in Mundaun and are a bit on the easy side since they're just fetch quests or that "code" that is actually just listed on your journal.
? Sincei it's a small town there are some moderate backtracking for tasks

A diamond in the rough. One of the most unique survival-horror games out there that blends A24's Midsommar with psychological and survival horror. Buy it at full price, it's a once in a lifetime game and it's going into my GOTYAY list.
