A pretty decent tactical stealth shooter, with mech battles sprinkled in. I had quite some fun with it.

That said, it probably isn't worth the full price tag. Buy it on sale.

EDIT: BTW the World of Tanks stuff is a DLC, if you are annoyed by it you can disable it by right click the game in the steam client -> properties -> DLC -> deselect the world of tank collab dlc

A pretty decent RTS game that does its own thing, and has surprising depth. I quite enjoyed it.

If you are experiencing crashes when parking the game in the background, try toggle "settings->interface->disable pause on lost focus". You can still manually pause the game before you alt+tab away from the game.

Pretty decent rouge lite craft-survival-driving sim. The main campaign is fun sized and concludes before it gets repetitive. Ofc you can also dive into the endless expeditions if you still want more.

One quirk of the game is that it gets very demanding hardware wise if you crank shadow quality up above mid. Otherwise the game runs totally fine and smooth.

A pretty fun little game that combines old gen Armored Core gameplay and map exploration from the Souls games. And the protagonist and NPCs are machine augmented anime girls. Graphics wise is pretty much PS3 level but I care little about graphics so it's not a down side to me.

There're some occasional crashes when you try to interact with the ingame spawn point but it will mostly go away when you lower the graphics setting from highest to high. I care little about graphics but YMMV.

All in all a very pleasant surprise.

EDIT: The dev added an optional hard mode. No it can finally make me suffer like a proper souls like. Yissssss.

Decent open world game that still holds up pretty well to this day. Remember to turn off "decal" and "bokeh filter" in graphics settings to avoid game crash.

A daring attempt to expand on Out There: Omega Edition, but sadly lost focus and fell flat.

New ship management gameplay can be fun; ship navigation feels largely the same as OTOE; UI is streamlined with hotkeys, can have softlocks occasionally though but nothing can't be fixed with good old alt+f4, remember to save often.

Unfortunately the core feature of OTOE: survival, is not here in OTOOT. Staying alive is so utterly trivial you have to actively sabotage your run to be in real danger of an early game over.

Another core feature of OTOE, learning alien language is also getting sidelined here. Choosing the right response will only slightly alter the inventory of alien vendor and recruit roster. Hell, you can safely ignore the shopping system entirely, since resource is hardly a problem.

And lastly, to me the real crime is the writing in this game. In OTOE the random events that happen when you jump to a new star did a good job setting the atmosphere of the game -- the dread in face of the unknown, the wonder of the universe, the helplessness of flinging oneself into the void using utterly inexplicable alien technology, the struggle to tread the fine line between functional and lunatic and functional lunatic, and mixed with a healthy does of body horror.

But all this, is absent in OTOOT. The random encounters become few and far between, and what left of them reads as bland as the instructions printed on the back of your instant noodle package. The new protagonist, Cpt. Nyx and her sidekick are not that likable, and the main plot is... whatever. The canon ending also somewhat undermined the plot of OTOE, making the lone protagonist's self-imposed crusade to save humanity kind of a joke, since he/it is not human to begin with...

Oh and there's one steam achievement, Proto-Culture , which is broken at the time of writing of this review. And the community manager over at the official discord confirmed there's no planned fix in sight, making it impossible to 100% this game. If you are into that kind of thing, avoid this game.

This game captures the dread of exploring the endless unknown of the space pretty well. The game keeps you on your toes even when you have end game ship and tech, because you are always only a couple careless jumps away from your untimely demise. I'd recommend referencing the random event cheat sheet on github to mitigate the frustration though.
I have to admit I began playing this only to try and fill my unsatisfied desire for space exploration after the big disappointment that was Starfield. And to me, this game did the trick. Thank you, mi-clos devs!

I quite like the aesthetic of the city. Running on its roofs and between the skyscrapers is definitely a treat.
