If you're a fan of Digimon you will enjoy this game, but even if you're not there's still a lot to like.

Honestly with it being an almost decade-old game I was still pleasantly surprised with a lot of the features in this game, though I was also occasionally surprised by the features it lacked.

The game has kind of a slow start, and this slowness applies both to the story and gameplay, but once you progress just a bit you can easily get hooked. Story-wise, it gets way more engaging about halfway through and this is where you really start to appreciate the game as a whole.

The variety of digimon are good and I thought the gameplay mechanics were entertaining enough even though they dont go as in-depth as other JRPGs.

My only main gripe for a sizeable portion of the game is I wished we got to explore the Digital World more or a wider variety of environments in general. This is a unique Digimon game in which you can explore many areas of Tokyo, which is really cool at first but loses it's novelty.

As a Digimon fan, we don't often get games with both a well-structured narrative and good gameplay so this entry is very welcome and I'd definitely recommend it.

I haven't even played Hacker's Memory yet.
