This is an absolutely wonderful game, and it scratches an itch for a type of game that's too rare. There are too few tactical grid-based rpg games!! The story has a lot of complex moral situations (and some not so complex ones) and events develop in really interesting ways.

The gameplay strongly encourages finding wacky combinations of skills with weird results. There is definitely a grindy element to it, but it feels mostly like an optional grind. The grind is just for if you want lots of units with varying skills instead of just a small group of elites, and it's a good excuse to play more of the great gameplay. Just fantastic overall.
