It's bizarre to wake up and see that a series that I really loved is not just back after an 18 year leave (yes THAT long) but is also somehow the best the series have ever been.
If you love TXR you know what you're in for.

If you've never played TXR because it's possible that you were born after the last game graced the world with its presence - this is an extremely solid arcade game all about Japanese highway loop racing culture.
Including really cool customization options with more to come later down the line.

I do have a slight gripe with cars having very extreme course correction but most people seem to also mention that and seeing how well this came out right out of the box - I fully expect Genki to listen and adjust as they go.

Instant recommend from me.

What a game. Not too long, good if simple writing, absolute banger of a soundtrack.
And the action hits just the right balance between feeling like a death machine and teetering right on the verge of death.

Incredible but could use workshop support for custom levels. I can see the game shine even harder with community support if it were allowed to.

Real world tip: Inanimate objects feel pain, so be sure to hit them with a hammer as much as possible.

It's a very unusual game, if somewhat short. Compared to the original free version it's basically double the content which more than justifies it being a full sized purchase; not to mention the stellar aesthetic and very unusual world you get thrown into.
Easy recommend from me.

SImple, fun, cute artstyle, decent OST.

My only gripe is that the camera is a bit zoomed in and the balancing is somewhat odd.
Certain things are also not being explained to the player like the fact that armor actually degrades as it gets shot at as well as no real HUD for the player to see that for themselves.
I assume all of that is gonna get fixed as the game develops and neither are deal breakers frankly.

So far - great little time waster. Recommend heavily.

And can't wait for more content.

It's still in heavy development but all you really need to know is that you can make (almost) any tank you want and it'll behave as you'd expect it to.

Usually it'll suck.

But hey, that's the fun of it, making things better!

I'm going to write a review solely to counter review bombing by childish twitteroids who are uncapable of undestanding that third world zeitgeist of US doesn't matter.

Factorio is, as one helmeted chap put it, pure crack. Actual undiluted highly addictive drug of a game.

You will get lost in optimizing your factory. That's a guarantee. This game possesses a feedback loop I haven't seen ever since I compiled GORILLA.BAS for the first time in my life. You build a factory, you get it working, it does things it does and you decide to make it do more things. And it does that, but not very well. Then you make it do that very well and it's an extremely satisfying process once it all clicks.
By that point you have to add more because, hey, progression exists!
You perfected your little starter setup? Oh no, that's oil you just researched, time to expand and optimize again!
And it just doesn't stop.
It's hellish.

And it's incredibly, amazingly good-feeling.

It helps that this game has a very subdued soundtrack, mostly supplemented by the diegetic sound of machinery. Visuals are simple, but easily readable and rather pretty.
There are close to zero bugs and it runs extremely well.

Buy this game, but beware of losing all your time.

Although at this point it's more correct to quote this:

This game is draining the last of my sanity.

The balance problems get exacerbated with each patch and addition.
Is it a new ground vehicle for USSR/GER? It's going to be comedically undertiered and have better features than anything in its BR range.
Is it a new air vehicle for USA/USSR? See above.
Is it a new vehicle for any nation beyond the main three? Overtiered beyond recognition and lacking features or historical performance.
Older vehicle issues? Still there. You still have best Panthers at 5.3/5.7, Object 120 at 7.3, 105 Sherman at 2.7. You also still have the opposite: Easy 8 at 5.3, 76mm Jumbo at 6.3, EBR 1951 at 5.3. Gaijin punishes good players and rewards bad players with their statistics-driven balancing.
Damn near every BR change that seems okay at first always comes with an insanely inane change that ruins whatever little positive there is.

Also the maps suck. And now they're introducing snow versions of them. Because doubling bad maps is a good idea. Ha. Ha-ha.

But forget the balance and the maps, what about the bugs?
Got plenty of those.
Moving turrets? Impact black holes, 99% chance of your round getting eaten by 5mm structural steel.
Side skirts still eat shells as well.
Ghost shells? As of latest update the boys are back in town.
Audio being illegible because some diesel truck two city blocks away has misconfigured values? You bet.
Invisible tanks? Unrendered obstacles? Oh yeah. All there.
At least the camera stopped pretending bushes are solid objects. Thank God. Oh wait nevermind it still gets caught on many things that snail forgot to properly flag as destructible.
Crashing? It's back, baby.

ULQ is still an issue as well, but I feel like at this point snail just does not care about what is quite literally abuse.

Don't let EAC's presence fool you either. There's plenty of outright cheaters despite what our mollusc-adjacent developer might suggest. Random number generated names are the main perpetrators.
Unfortunately there's also Gaijin-alowed cheating as well because guess what? Console SPAA players have target locking and tracking even if they plug mouse and keyboard in. Yeah, they can do that. Just being able to lock and track you with a non-radar SPAA in RB. You can't do that. All or none, Gaijin. All or none. Pick one.

Underneath all these issues there's a good game. Great even. Best "simcade" you can get for this sort of a thing.
It's almost Forza Horizon of military sims/arcades but the developers outright hate you.

Don't give them what they want.

Avoid WT.

I'm gonna address something really fast ahead of everything else and that is the performance.

It runs perfectly fine. Contrary to what some people claim, this game runs absolutely fine sans some short load stutters that I think might be caused by the fact that I'm playing it from a crappy old HDD from like five years ago. Medium settings, 1080p, stable 60-70 FPS on a 1050ti with ryzen 3100 and 16gb of RAM. Compared to Deathwing's launch, this is leaps and bounds ahead so if you can run Deathwing you can run this, no questions asked.

Overall, it's a B-production sort of a game. It's not particularly well polished(though given who Streum On are, this is extremely polished in comparison) but at its core it's a great game.
Gameplay. Not sure where those comparisons to Doom of all things come from, it plays nothing like that, more of a Titanfall-ish experience. I guess finishers confuse people. Gun customization is an unusual surprise, but a welcome one; nothing says "successful bounty hunter" as a royal purple autogun swinging from your hip after all. Grapple hook is more of a Just Cause style ordeal, getting you to a location instantly, so don't expect fancy swings from it. Weapons feel as solid as they come though I would kinda prefer heavy stubber to sound meatier. Dog can be petted and upgraded, but your personal good boy's AI is a bit on the janky side. Still really good at showing scavs what's what. Overall equipment system is alright but there's a suspicious lack of extra armor types which would be neat to see addressed, seeing only underarmors is kinda weird.
Story? An excuse to get you to unlock more levels. It's inconsequential. Slightly brought down by bad audio mixing but it really is just a vessel for move violence and nothing else. You can try following it but that's entirely at your own cost. Side missions are gonna be very familiar if you've played EYE, they just drop you into a location and let you go at it. In short, no points deducted since it doesn't get in the way, just don't expect a thrilling intrigue or something.
Visually it's not exactly a AAA production ordeal, you can spot some dodgy textures, but overall it's an absolute treat. Great design, nothing less I expected from Streum On frankly. They just get how 40k should look like. Helped by lighting, though some of it is kinda too bright in places but it usually makes sense when it happens. Some more stalwart people might object to bolters having picatinny rails but that's on GW introducing them like several redactions ago and devs just going with the flow. Ogrins have slightly odd animations but nothing offensive.

Overall I can recommend Hired Gun with very little hesitation. It might need some patching to smooth out minor wrinkles but it's a pretty decent game. It doesn't reach for the stars but it doesn't really need to.
Maybe wait for a sale if $40 is too much for you and other reviews seem confusingly negative(as some of them are full of bollocks as mentioned in the preamble) and you're just not really feeling like risking a simple, B level production game at full price.

This is, in effect, a "what if" scenario if rainbow six games didn't go full console and CSGO and kept developing.
And then dropped five tabs of acid in the middle of a mushroom trip.

It's a shockingly complex game despite it looks and variative to boot, and for the asking price it's an absolute steal. Good combat, good tactical feeling, the world is very interesting and strange but also scarily familiar.

And you can fish in it.
