The mechanics of this game are absolutely amazing, sure it requires two people, who like each other, to play, but this game is a ton of a fun.

It's not quite the same vibe as stardew valley, it's more of an animal crossing - ish type of game, you're really just lliving in a town where people constantly want you to do stuff for them, which is fine, it's a super chill game. The Multiplayer is decent, having a town where everyone meets up and can become friends and visit each others farms and help out a little is nice. You can't really quest together or trade which sucks, but oh well, nobody is perfect, this game is worth it.

Well, 4 hours in and I am not bored yet. It's your typical survival, but it has this really neat RPG type of vibe to it. It's early access and wasn't really buggy at all. Building mechanics are better than most games, combat has dodge, block and attack which is fun. Over all a lot more fun than most survival games.

Welp, I've cried, I've screamed all sorts of obsenities, yelled loud enough that I am sure my neighbors are at least worried, I've tried drunk, sober, VR and desktop, and EVERY TIME ITS SCARES THE HECK OUT OF ME. Scarier in VR definitely, but scary enough that even in desktop I have to watch cartoons before I go to bed.

Easily the most beautiful, intuitive, well thought out game for VR. If you own VR this is a must have, if you don't own VR, this is still a must have. The amount of things to do in this game is crazy. Like space combat sims? Like science sims? Like exploring? Like Dungeon Crawling? Like FPS shoot em ups? Like crafting? Like Grinding? Like Base building? Like economy games? Like social games? I mean it really has it all and I am probably not even doing it justice.

So far, only played this for 5 minutes. That was all I needed, it's 100% everything it's supposed to be. Nostalgic, retro, easy game play... perfect for when you are waiting for rounds to start on other games, or just killing time. Especially if you mute the music and put on your own 80s retro tunes! Perfect game IMO.

Cryofall is a great game, it's simple at it's core, but it has complexity in it's tech trees which is refreshing. They have an excellent support staff in discord, that were able to aid in dedicated server setup quickly which was also a breathe of fresh air.

I feel like I should go ahead and write a review for this, since the ratings are mixed and also I have not seen anyone with anywhere close to as much time into Virtual Desktop as I have.

Preface: I work in Virtual Reality, 8 hours a day, and game in Virtual reality for at least another 4 hours a day. On any given day I spend at minimum 12 hours a day in Virtual Reality and 80% of that is in Virtual Desktop.

TL;DR after 3255 hours (at the time of this review) I have not found ANY significant issues that effect the use of this software.

SETUP: I run an i7-9700, with 32GB RAM and an MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti. I run no physical monitors, and only use 3 headless ghosts that all support 90hz 1920x1080 resolution. My HMD is a Samsung Odyssey+ which also supports 90hz refresh. I've setup a bind on my keyboard to allow me to press a sequence of keys which fires up Virtual Desktop, which in turn turns on my headset. Since the Odyssey+ boots up so fast, it's literally not much longer than turning on a monitor to be able to see the screen (maybe 4 seconds on a bad day).

WORKDAYS:
--------------
I spend a solid 8 hours a day M-F in my headset in Virtual Desktop. Running all 3 monitors, in the void (so no extra overhead) all 1920x1080 I routinely do screenshares and training webinars through Virtual Desktop, I run the screens at 360 degrees so yes I have to physically turn to see the other screens. I run them at 7m distance with an 88% curve. Reason being I made my primary display be almost exactly perfect to my peripheral vision. So If I stare directly at the center of my primary display the edges of the left and right screens are just barely peeking in my peripheral vision. I run all the typical stuff for work across all 3 monitors you could imagine, Gmail, Slack, Chrome, Photoshop, Office, VSCode... etc.I also keep discord running and google hangouts going at all times too and I experience zero performance issues. In fact, the only issues I can even report at all, are related to the headset itself and not to Virtual Desktop specifically.

GAMING:
-----------
After work and weekends I game in VR. Now, this isn't playing VR games (which I do, but is outside of the scope of Virtual Desktop), this is playing regular games that would run on a regular monitor. They output to my main display (with some games even supporting resolutions big enough to span 2 monitors like Raft or Thief). But Overwatch is my goto and while I can jack the graphics on OW all the up, I play competitively so I keep the graphics on OW all the down, but I run 1920x1080 and cap my frames at 90FPS. With those settings I run 90FPS ALL DAY on Overwatch without issue. The ONLY issue I run into has nothing to do with Virtual Desktop or my headset, but rather my video card that has a slow memory leak and requires me to reboot VR every few days to release the VRAM. BUT, outside of that, I run Overwatch, Raft, and a whole host of other games in Virtual Desktop, with Discord, chrome, hangouts, twitch and a few other things going without issue as well.

So, Virtual Desktop essentially is my entire work and play environment. It's not perfect, but nothign that is a deal breaker. For instance, it seems everytime there is an update, the settings all reset and it turns voice commands back on, which can get annoying, but it's happened enough now that I just know on the updates to turn it back off. I should also note, that I don't use any of the 3D options, I haven't watched any 3D movies or anything in it, that's just not my thing. I have used the Windows Cliff House desktops and those have truly terrible performance for gaming, but are fine for working and I also have tried Big Screen which is great for things like Watch Parties with friends and social aspects, but not the same performance as Virtual Desktop and I won't be using it for gaming (although it is free), but Virtual Desktop IMO is worth the price, obviously I have gotten my money's worth out of it.

AND FINALLY FINALLY, Guy if you are reading this and are interested in any opinions/suggestions or general feedback I may have (as potentially the person who has used this the most), feel free to hit me up and I would be happy to chat! I am in your discord, same name.

EDIT: I've gotten SO many people asking questions on this, I made this for everyone to kind of follow, at some point it was easier to write a tutorial than to explain it all the time:

So, I got this for Christmas with two controllers... I linked one to my account and one to my wifes' account. BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER! Consolizing my games!!! I get twice as much game time in now, because I can do it on the TV. So far has been an amazing experience.

Only suggestion, controllers should store the steam user_id info for the account they are linked with, so when I sign into a friends steam link with my controller, my name shows on the particular game we are playing...
