I'm a longtime fan of Killing Floor and while KF3 is definitely not where I want it to be in terms of content, I think Tripwire is on the right track to making something very enjoyable.

My main complaints, however, deal with the core design of the game. I don't like the reliance on "hero" characters (altering the traditional perk system to be character-specific). One of the best things about Killing Floor, imo, was the customizable characters with their own unique designs and voice lines. There's still some of this in this game, but it's locked behind a Helldivers-esque pass system (earn in-game credits, spend them on cosmetics supplemented by a season pass style system for better looking cosmetics). I also don't care for the lack of weapons for each character. I get that they're doing the Call of Duty style gun customization thing now, but I feel like a lot of the last two games had so much personality in the weird and fun guns that could alter your play style completely.

I also HATE the hub world. It's completely pointless and adds nothing to the experience. The only thing it does is make it more time consuming to get into a match, now that you have to go from the mission panel and then to the VTOL. KF2 was nearly perfect when it came to this. No idea why this changed.

The graphics on KF3 are something to behold, with RTX turned on, DLSS on quality, and frame gen on auto, I'm way over 100 fps at all times at 1440p using a RTX 5070 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D. You can turn the game up to native res and have pretty decent performance even on ultra settings with RT, just don't expect triple digits. Frame gen effectively smooths out whatever micro stutters occur from time to time in game on native res/DLAA. I don't notice much impact lag with frame gen on auto - this game uses Nvidia Reflex which effectively closes the gap on perceived input lag, at least on lower frame gen settings. Would not recommend 4x frame gen because it feels noticeably laggy compared to the other options.

In summary, I think the core game is mostly good with some noticeable hiccups that I'd like to see addressed. Namely, more maps and weapons for all classes.
