Resident Evil Requiem Review: Resident Evil Requiem is tied with the Resident Evil 1 and 4 remakes as the best Resident Evil game in the franchise, but it is also the best game I have played so far in 2026.Resident Evil Requiem took everything that I love about Resident Evil and perfected it. I have never felt this scared in a game. The story has never been this good, and the gameplay has never been better.

The Story: Resident Evil Requiem takes place 5 years after Village. The story begins when you are introduced to a new character, Grace Ashcroft. She is an FBI Intelligence Analyst tasked by her boss to investigate a crime scene at a hotel because all the victims show signs of being infected. But things turn for the worse.Grace Ashcroft is a well-written character. She has an arc that I won’t spoil, but she is clearly not adjusted to field work. She is the opposite of most characters in the Resident Evil franchise. The story also focuses on another character: Leon Kennedy. He is much older now, and this time Leon isn’t just fighting zombies — he’s fighting time itself.I cannot say more because I will spoil the amazing, well-written story. But the ending gives you incredible payoffs for both Leon and Grace.
The Gameplay: Resident Evil Requiem has the best gameplay in the series. It features amazing gunplay — all the guns feel weighty and satisfying. The axe also feels fantastic, and nearly everything about the gameplay is perfect.Cons:
The game switches a lot between Grace and Leon at the beginning, and it can sometimes hurt the momentum and damage the pacing. However, it pays off in the end.Verdict:
Resident Evil Requiem is tied with the Resident Evil 1 and 4 remakes as the best Resident Evil game ever made.
Verdict: 10/10

Resident Evil Village Review: Wow, what a game! Resident Evil Village is better in nearly every way than Resident Evil 7. It has a more complex story, more interesting characters, and much, much, much scarier monsters. At one point, the game got so scary that I had a hard time progressing because it was so disgusting and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up — it was genuinely hard for me to keep playing.

Story:
Resident Evil Village takes place 4 years after the events of 7. Ethan and Mia have been moved somewhere in Europe because of what happened in 7. They are under the protection of Chris Redfield. Mia and Ethan have had a baby together — her name is Rose. Not to spoil too much, but Ethan is still having a hard time moving on with his life after 7, while Mia tries to convince him to move on. One day, Ethan and Mia’s house gets raided by Chris and his crew, known as the Hound Wolf Squad. They eliminate Mia and take the baby, so Chris sets out on a mission to find Rose.
Gameplay: The gameplay has been mostly improved across the board — from gunplay to boss fights to sound design and more. This time around, you can upgrade your guns much more than you could in 7 (I mean much more — it feels a lot closer to the Resident Evil 4 Remake when it comes to gun upgrades). You can buy ammo, upgrade your guns, buy bigger cases, and so on. The only downside is that you can never store guns you don’t want at the moment. So if you need more space, you have to either buy a new case or destroy a gun.Rating:
Resident Evil Village is in my top 5 best Resident Evil games I’ve ever played. It also has a very emotional ending. Final Rating: 9/10

So I just finished Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. I thought I’d give my thoughts about it.Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is mostly a return to form for the franchise after it had become more and more like a Call of Duty game and less like a survival horror game.
Gameplay:
Resident Evil 7 is the first game in the franchise to use first-person mode, and I liked it for the most part. It makes the game 100% scarier, even if I think it only works for this particular story. The level design reminds me a lot of the Resident Evil 1 remake because of all the backtracking you have to do, and ammo is very scarce.
Story:
You play as Ethan, who is searching for his wife that he thought had been dead for over a year. I won’t say more because it has a really good story, but let’s just say things don’t go as smoothly as he thought they would.Verdict:
Resident Evil 7 is a return to form for the Resident Evil franchise with great horror elements, amazing gameplay, and a satisfying ending.
9/10

Resident Evil 6 is going to be a very hard game for me to review. On one hand, it has an amazing story and a satisfying ending. But on the other side, it also no longer feels or plays like a Resident Evil game. It feels like they took Resident Evil 5 and made it even more Call of Duty with a zombie feeling. So I’m gonna try to make this review as fair as I can.
The Gameplay: I’ll start with the gameplay because it’s both the best and worst in the series, depending on how you look at it. On one hand, it’s more flexible than ever before — you can dive to the ground during shootouts and take cover. But because of this, it no longer feels like a Resident Evil game and more like a Call of Duty game. It’s very fun to play, but as I said before, it doesn’t feel like a Resident Evil game. They’ve removed the weapon slots, so you can carry as many weapons as you want. But I’ll repeat myself again: it’s very fun to play, but it’s not what I want from a Resident Evil game.
The Story: I think this is where the game really shines for me, especially if you cover Leon and Chris’s stories. The story of Resident Evil 6 is that another virus has broken out in the United States, created by Neo-Umbrella. This time the virus is much worse than in Resident Evil 5. If you thought the zombies in that game were advanced, just wait until you play 6 — these zombies are more like controlled humans because of how they fight. They can drive tanks, take over vehicles, and so on. In Leon’s story, you begin with the President of the United States already infected by the virus and turned. Without spoiling Leon’s side, you try to find the origin of who created the virus and why.Chris’s story is a bit different and, in my opinion, the best story in the game. I won’t say what it’s about because it’s the best part and I want you to experience it for yourself. But let’s just say Chris is a very, very different person after RE5. He has now been promoted to Captain in the BSAA, and he carries a lot of guilt — a side of Chris you’ve never seen before.
Rating: 7/10 I expected the score to drop once I played it, but what saved the game for me was the amazing story. Otherwise the game would have fallen flat. Because even though the combat feels amazing, it just doesn’t belong in a Resident Evil game. And it had way too many quick-time events.

Resident Evil: Revelations is just the type of game I needed to play after finishing the good but disappointing Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil: Revelations is a prequel to Resident Evil 5, and this time it takes place mostly on a luxury cruise ship called the Queen Zenobia.
The Plot: Resident Evil: Revelations stands out from other Resident Evil games because it has an episodic structure. It feels very much like a good TV show. It has around 12 episodes with some flashbacks. But mostly, you will play as Jill. I know I’ve said this a lot, but I love Jill as a character. She’s such a well-written character—I’ve never played a game with a character like her. She is kind but not soft, and she is not entirely too cold. She is very empathetic to the people around her, and she is a very selfless person. She’s the type of person you want when you’re against a corporation like Umbrella.

The story revolves around Jill and Parker Luciani, who received a notice from their BSAA Director, Clive O’Brian (BSAA stands for Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance), that they had lost contact with Chris on the luxury cruise ship called the Queen Zenobia. I won’t say more because I don’t want to spoil the amazing story for you.
Gameplay: The gameplay of this game feels more like an upgrade from Resident Evil 1 than an upgrade from Resident Evil 5. It has a very weird camera—it has kind of the same camera angle from 5, but the camera is more focused on the back of the character. The graphics are much better than in 5.

The episode format works for the most part, even if during the end it feels like there are too many cliffhangers. Most of them worked; others were just too convenient.Rating: 9/10

I think Resident Evil 5 is the least Resident Evil game i have played. What I mean by that is it feels more like a Call of Duty zombie game than an actual Resident Evil game In my 15 hours with the story, I never felt scared like I did in all the past Resident Evil games before it. I think the story is pretty well written and I really liked it, but most other things are pretty mixed for me.

The Story: It follows BSAA agent Chris Redfield and his partner Sheva Alomar in Kijuju, Africa, as they investigate a new, advanced Las Plagas parasite outbreak. Chris is much more muscular in this game than he ever was before, and like Leon, he has become much more serious. I won’t say more about the story, but let’s just say that the zombies this time around are much smarter, and the Las Plagas from the Resident Evil 4 remake has come to Africa in a much more advanced stage.I really loved the voice acting. Whoever voiced Chris did an amazing job. If they ever do another remake of Resident Evil 1.
The Gameplay:
This game has the worst QTEs I have ever seen in a video game. They are just way too fast, and they often use the worst keybindings that you can’t change. The new character Sheva and most of the other characters are interesting enough to care about. This time around, both Chris and Sheva have health bars, and you can heal both of them at the same time if you want. For a 2009 game, it still looks pretty good, and it has the biggest selection of boss fights I’ve seen in any Resident Evil game yet.
But I think the level design in Resident Evil 5 is the worst in the series.
Rating: 6/10 This is a good game, but it’s a very mid Resident Evil game.Even if the ending was very, very good, I still don’t think it’s a very good Resident Evil game.

Wow, I just finished Resident Evil 4 Remake, and what an experience that was! This might be the best Resident Evil game, or at least tied with Resident Evil 1 Remake as the best one I’ve played yet.Unlike Resident Evil 2 and 3, this game has a slow burn in my opinion. It really takes its time with the plot and characters.
The Story: Resident Evil 4 Remake takes place six years after the events of Resident Evil 2 Remake, so it’s set in 2004. After Leon survived the destruction of Raccoon City, he was forcefully recruited into a top-secret government anti-bioterrorism program. The training he went through nearly killed him, but once he completed it, he became an expert special agent and a highly skilled counter-bioterrorism operative. However, he also developed extreme PTSD because of the missions he took part in before the events of Resident Evil 4 Remake. Leon is then tasked by the government to rescue the President’s daughter in a rural location in Spain. I won’t say much more about the story because I don’t want to spoil too much. Leon Kennedy as a character is much better written here. You can clearly see how much PTSD he suffers from — it’s very clear he’s a traumatized professional. He feels like a very different person compared to Resident Evil 2 Remake. Leon is also much more muscular than he was in the previous game.
Gameplay: Gameplay has been improved a lot since Resident Evil 2 Remake. Since Leon is now an expert special agent, he handles guns and weapons much better in general. The knife gameplay has seen huge improvements, and the gunplay feels way better overall. In this game, you often buy weapons, armor, healing items, and more from merchants you find throughout the game. In Resident Evil 4, you carry a briefcase because you’re now a government agent, so you have a lot more space to store weapons and ammo (though you’ll need upgrades if you want to carry even more). Weapons can also be upgraded. There are no traditional zombies in this game. Instead, they are infected people who look normal at first, but once you start attacking them, they act very differently.I’d say the gameplay is the best in the series that I’ve played so far. The guns feel smooth and punchy, hand-to-hand combat feels great, and the knife combat is really satisfying. The boss fights with monsters are even better than in Resident Evil 3 Remake (if you can believe that). This game also has a huge variety of monsters. Some of them are so scary that you wonder why anyone would ever create them. For example, the Regenerador — a monster that regenerates — is incredibly hard to kill.
Rating: Resident Evil 4 Remake is tied with Resident Evil 1 Remake as the best Resident Evil game I’ve ever played. It has great horror elements, a solid story, amazing gameplay, cool puzzles, and a very satisfying ending. Resident Evil 4 Remake – 10/10

Before I even started playing Resident Evil games, I heard that Resident Evil 3 was a bad, unfaithful remake and a bad game. Well, having played the Resident Evil 3 Remake from start to finish, I can at least say that it is not a bad Resident Evil game. Jill Valentine was not character assassinated either—especially after having played the Resident Evil 1 Remake. But, just like the original 1999 game, this remake feels rushed.
The story is not as good as Resident Evil 1 or 2, but it’s still very good and it
improves a lot over Resident Evil 2 that is not story and I have to say I was so glad to be playing as Jill Valentine again. She is still the same person she was in Resident Evil 1. The only bad thing is that I can’t get the same outfit she wore in the Resident Evil 1 Remake—the only way to do it is by buying the DLC, which I think is lame. The gameplay has been improved, but some things were also removed. For example, you can now use your knife if a zombie grabs you.
This game also has much tighter inventory space, which makes you really think about what type of weapons you want to use at any given moment. The sound of the guns has been improved too, making them feel way more punchy. The Story The story takes place a few days after the events of the first game. The first half happens approximately 24 hours before RE2, while the second half takes place after RE2.
It centers around Jill as a STARS officer who wakes up in her apartment in Raccoon City and immediately gets attacked by the new monster called Nemesis. Nemesis is taking over the entire city and making the zombies much harder to defeat. Jill gets help—even though at first she doesn’t want it—from the U.B.C.S.
mercenaries. They work for the Umbrella Corporation, and their job is to protect the citizens from the zombies and all the other creatures. Jill shows a lot of disdain toward these guys because of what happened in Resident Evil 1, but she eventually warms up to them later. So, without spoiling too much, the story centers around her fight against Nemesis, whose mission is to destroy as much of the city as possible and kill her in the process if he can.
The game feels rushed and a bit too short, but I will say the final boss battle is one of the coolest boss fights I’ve ever seen in a video game. My rating: 8/10 It’s still a good Resident Evil game, even if it’s not quite as good as the Resident Evil 2 or 1 remakes.

I just finished Resident Evil 2 (2019 remake) and wow, what a game!I know it's been 23 years since the Resident Evil 1 remake, but playing 2 really shows how much time has passed. The writing has been improved a thousand times, the gameplay has been overhauled, it has much better animations, and so on.
The story takes place in the late 1990s like Resident Evil 1, but this time it centers around two characters: Leon Kennedy, a rookie cop on his first day on duty in the city of Raccoon City, who finds that the city has been overrun by zombies. The police station has no surviving cops left except for one survivor. Then we have Claire Redfield, a brave college student searching for her brother, Chris Redfield (who was from the last game). I won't say too much because I don't want to spoil the story.

The unique thing about Resident Evil 2 is that you can choose to start with either Leon or Claire. But you will have to play both scenarios to get the true ending of the game. So in short, you have to play the game twice. Claire and Leon play very differently, so it's very fresh and not annoying at all to play this amazing game again for a second time As I said, the narrative this time around is much better written, even if I think the Resident Evil 1 remake is very good.

The gameplay has also been overhauled. For example, zombies can take so many more shots to the head before dying, and you often need to shoot their entire head off for them to die. Ammo is much scarcer this time around You have to remember this game was the first Resident Evil remake that skipped the fixed camera. It made a huge difference. Even though I warmed up to the fixed camera in the Resident Evil 1 remake, I can really see the improvement with a normal camera. The gunplay feels amazing and the movement is fantastic
My rating is 10/10

I recently decided to get into the Resident Evil franchise. I was never the biggest fan of horror video games, so I didn’t know what to expect when I began playing Resident Evil 1 Remake. But wow — after finishing the game just a few minutes ago, I have to say this is one of the best games I’ve ever played. It has

one of the best art styles I’ve ever seen in a video game. The reason I was never into horror games was mostly because I got very easily scared as a kid. Whenever a scary section came up, I would always turn off the sound and music. But the excellent art style, strong level design, and well-written characters pulled me through. The things I loved:The story (I loved the story. It wasn’t the most complex, but it didn’t need to be. It was exactly the type of story I needed right now.)

Characters (I played as Jill Valentine and thought she was really well written. She is portrayed as a competent, compassionate, and intelligent professional. She wasn’t stone cold, but she wasn’t overly emotional either. I loved playing as her.)

The art style (I loved the art style. Even when I used a mod to make the textures look clearer, the art style didn’t suffer at all. It has aged incredibly well for a 2002 game — I still can’t believe this game came out in 2002.)
Level design (Especially the mansion and most other locations.)

The things I didn’t like:The fixed camera angles
The saving system

Otherwise, I loved almost everything else My rating: 10/10 MasterpieceThis game doesn’t need another remake. It has aged very well, and I think the only things that feel dated are the fixed camera angles and the saving system.
