I would still recommend Dragon Age: Origins/Awakening highly and DA:2 more hesitantly. They are all self contained stories that make sense without playing any of the other aside from little references.

saw your dragon age review, i'm contemplating playing the games as well (never played before), is it even worth it? should I play origins, II or inquisition?
