CAN YOU REACH THE FINALS?
The answer is... No. Unless you're 3 stack.

Let me start by saying this: this game is phenomenal. From its sound design to its combat, customization, game flow, gunplay, etc. This game is a lot better than your average shooter. Every class feels unique to play, has its advantages and disadvantages over each other. However, there's a class that breaks the game with its gadgets & tools & weapons, and no, it's not light. But this is not the reason why this is a negative review. This game has a MASSIVE matchmaking issue. And that's where everything starts to collapse, you can't have fun, no matter how good the game is or how skilled you are.

If this game has SBMM, it's the worst implementation ever exists; if this game has EOMM, it's once again the worst implementation of it. Because I do believe this game has neither. There's no game in the world, where a game that features either one of those matchmaking systems that will give you players who have a lower IQ than a monkey. In a ranked game, how am I getting two players in my team who have just started playing ranked? How is it possible that the guy(s) in my team don't know how to play, but the enemy team has 3 ruby players? How can a ruby player end up in a game filled with plats and golds instead of diamonds and other ruby players? Or, put simply, why not matchmake them with people who have similar points? I swear to god, I'd rather have 2 instant respawns and play on my own than have 2 other people that don't know what they're doing. Think Call of Duty: Warzone, its ranked matchmaking is based on your rank. Meaning, if you're a diamond, the players in your lobby are 70% diamonds, 20% plats who are close to diamond, and 10% crimson players, only if the matchmaking fails to find diamonds and plats (you'll get more crimson players if you're close to crimson). But you'll never get iridescent or top 250 players in your lobby. BUT IN THIS GAME, you have an extremely high chance to play against 2-3 RUBY TEAMS out of 8 teams. This would've been tolerated if the players on your team had an average of 70 IQ, but I can guarantee you, they have not. So, unless you're 3 stack, playing ranked is not a pain, but an atomic bomb that's about to explode in your ass.

Embark is a visionary studio, very skilled team of devs, but fails to deliver good matchmaking and balancing. For a lot of people, Light class is the most hated class because they think it's the most broken class. I'm sure you heard enough about those, but let me tell you what they don't tell you: Heavy is the most broken class in this game and it's not even close. Why? Here's why;

- Dome shield: A deployable shield where, when you're inside of it, you can shoot people but people can't shoot you back unless they come close and get inside of it too.
- Lockbolt: A gadget that locks people to the ground, takes an ENTIRE MAG to destroy it.
- Winch Claw: A skill or so called "specialization" that has an insane range that pulls the target closer to the heavy. Basically, "get over here" at home.
- Mesh Shield: Same as the dome shield, but this time heavy itself uses the shield, like Reinhardt in Overwatch.
- Shak-50: Low mag but insane damage up close - medium range. Winch Claw + Shak-50 combo deletes both light and medium if you land your shots correctly.
- .50 Akimbo: What's worse than a desert eagle? Two desert eagles... Insane range combined with high damage output while maintaining a solid accuracy.
- BFR Titan: A revolver that has a good bullet velocity, high damage, low mag, and insane range. Another perfect combo to delete light by using Winch Claw with the gun.
- Flamethrower: Overall, is not as good as the other weapons I mentioned, yet it's still in my list because of its stupid range.
- SA126: Again, another gun for a perfect use of Winch Claw combo. A semi-auto shotgun that deals tons of damage up close. High mag capacity.

Heavy is a class where its high health bar meets with its high damage, high magazine guns. When you add its stupid gadgets that break the game for everyone, it's safe to say that this class is the most annoying and OP one in the game. That so called OP light class gets insta deleted by:
- Explosive mine
- Winch Claw + Shak-50 / BFR Titan / SA126 / Sledgehammer
- Pyro mine
- CL-40
- P90
- Model 1887
- R.357
- CB-01 Repeater

If you're gonna play this game and you're keen to play ranked, find 2 other people for the sake of your mental health. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. As I said, this game is phenomenal, but its massive matchmaking issues turn everything upside down. And I don't see that being addressed anytime soon.

One of the worst combat mechanics I've ever experienced in any game. It's straight ass. Even 10 year old games have better controls, such a shame. If anyone thinks this is a good game to start the soulslike experience, they're delusional. You better off starting with Sekiro at that point, because despite the difficulty, everything is RESPONSIVE! I couldn't stand this game, I really wanted to play more because of its atmosphere but no, I can't stand how clunky and unresponsive is everything in this game. Just go get yourself a Big Mac or something, you'll enjoy it more than this.

This game is so soulless that it's crazy bro. Also, the BR implementation isn't that good either. It doesn't feel right. And you can respawn as long as one of your teammates is alive, like in Resurgence mode in Warzone. But here's the catch, you can't respawn if one of your teammates is in combat. What's the point of this if you can't respawn when one of your teammates is in combat and you can't go help him to change that fight's outcome?

Easiest FPS game of my life, for real. The game doesn't require such skill imo. The movement is good, reminds me of Titanfall. If I'm not mistaken, portal implementation was better in the first game. Maps were designed better for the usage of portals in the first game, at least that's how I remember it. You can play without using portals at all in this game and you won't notice a difference. Some skills are cool but again, they feel so cheap. You're still good to go if you don't use them at all.

Monetization is insane. They're all cosmetics but those prices... You could call the game Greedgate 2 just by that.

This is a game where you can hop on, play a few rounds, and call it a day, nothing more.

This game proves that IW is the best dev studio between them. No matter how bad their decisions are, those decisions will always fit their vision. If they want you to play slow, they'll make it slow. They won't give you movement and make other elements of the game slow. Their game is technically the best one that works, and you know that you're shooting a gun when you're playing an IW title. SHG did an incredible job with MWIII but until they release their own standalone title, I don't think it's right to say that they're the best studio because MWIII was already a part of MWII. But, they're the only studio that listens to feedback and gives what the players want, so huge W for them.

Remember MWII? They removed movement from the game and everyone went mad, including myself. But also remember, even MWII had fast hands which reduced the reload speed of the guns by a lot. You can't play faster than they allow you to be. Even if you remove fast hands from MWII, the reload times won't be that annoying because that game is not as fast paced as this one. This game's reload speed is INSANE. Not only that, but the rest of the animations are heavy too. What's the point of adding movement to the game if you're gonna punish players in other ways? It just doesn't work. The mantle speed is crazy bro, like seriously. My dead grandpa would climb faster than my operator who can SPRINT, DIVE AND SLIDE IN ANY DIRECTION. Escape From Tarkov is a hardcore realistic shooter. And even in that game you can throw a grenade faster and reload AR's faster than BO6's SMG's and pistols 💀

This game had 4 years of dev time and it still technically sucks, doesn't work nearly as close as any other game that had less dev time from SHG and IW.

Oh, and those multiplayer maps... I can't believe we have another year of Treyarch 😭 If anyone can enjoy this game, good for them. But this is the worst Call of Duty game I've ever played, in my opinion. Even Vanguard was better.

Call of Duty is the only game where you're punished for being a skilled player.

Cons:
-Campaign is meh
-Anticheat exists on paper, but not technically
-Incredibly bad designed maps
-Insanely slow reload times and animations such as throwing a grenade, mantling etc.
-God tier SBMM
-Aim assist is one step closer to being an actual aimbot
-Literally every gun feels almost the same
-Its price

Pros:
-Omnimovement (seriously, we need this in other fps games too. once you try it, you know how good it feels to move and sprint in any direction)
-Available on Game Pass
-Gunplay (because of how good it was designed in IW engine by IW, even Treyarch's cartoonish guns don't feel that bad as they used to be)

I NUTTED.

THE ATMOSPHERE THOUGH! This is a very unique experience and our first look at how Unrecord might feel.

It runs better than you can imagine despite its graphics. So far I was able to play in the forest map and the visibility is really bad and everything is too dark. The map really has some anti-aliasing issues as well. In the body bomb mode, you can plant the bomb as soon as you spawn which is ridiculous.

You might feel more comfortable with aiming and moving around if you lower the camera shake in the settings. Also, don't forget to turn down the gun sounds as well, for your own sake!

Fire soundtrack, buggy UI, and lobby system seem like an issue at the moment (it's either because everyone has to hit ready, or the UI is buggy as hell).

Not a bad launch but this feels more like a tech demo rather than a game, we'll see how it'll turn out.

This game definitely deserves a chance, but not at the moment. People keep saying "Don't you see it says early access, you can't expect a full release" Well, all bugs aside, just because it says early access doesn't mean the game's core mechanics should be terrible / not working as intended. Inconsistent hitreg which also can lead to bullet sponge, unbelievably bad performance, nothing interesting to loot, AI either stands still or knows exactly where you are etc.

This game's not a Tarkov clone. I think it's safe to say that this game is Ghost Recon + Arma + Tarkov combined. The health system is heavily inspired by Tarkov, which is cool, the gunplay is okay, the audio is okay, and the atmosphere is nice but the ambient sound can be annoying. The game has a huge potential, devs seem interested and listen to the feedback that the community gives. Hopefully, a couple of months later it'll be in a better state. As of now, I'd not even recommend trying the game unless you have an RTX 4070 or a better GPU despite all of the issues I mentioned. Otherwise, you'll be experiencing what it feels like to have myopic astigmatism on top of the bad performance.

Helldivers 2 is a great example of how to ruin your own good game. The game lost a huge amount of its player base and will continue to lose unless they start to understand what the players want. There's no way that these are the same developers when the game first launched. Every update is a huge L for the game and its players, but a huge W for automatons and terminids. This game is getting more balance patches than many PvP games out there, and the amount of effort put into nonsense balancing in a PvE game is INSANE. It's nonsense because nerfing every gun and stratagem into the ground is not something you can call balancing. And what's the logic behind releasing a warbond -which is something you can get with real money if you don't wanna grind in the game- that has guns worse than the game's worst gun? So, if you paid for it, you got a new weapon that is WORSE than the game's worst weapon.

This game was so beautiful at launch despite its many issues. Now, it's just a game that you cannot enjoy if you know how it was back then. There's no way that you can at least get 50% of the fun when you had back then. This is how they ruined this game. Did you ever check the patch notes and realize something?

"Fire tornados have had their behavior changed, they should no longer feel like they actively respond to player movement, and should move more randomly."

"The unblock button should no longer disappear from the social menu."

"We have toned down the amount of heavily armored enemies like Bile Titans, Chargers on higher difficulties and instead spawn more hordes of smaller enemies, the difference should be quite noticeable and the amount should be at least 30% less than before during bug breaches."

Should? Are you guys not aware of what you code? You guys don't know what you're coding, really? Their biggest patch (01.000.400) is a patch where they were able to fix a small amount of their mistakes which they ruined before, multiple times. Don't get me wrong, it's a good step in the right direction but it's just not enough. And lots of people ignored the fact that these guys ruined this game but they were able to deliver us a "Hey guys, sorry we screwed and here's something that can fix our mistakes" patch and everyone forgot about the other patches, really? This community... Also worth mentioning is that every update causes more performance issues alongside new bugs, plus the bugs that have still not been fixed since THE LAUNCH of the game.

I just can't anymore. Thank you, Pilestedt, for the good memories. I hope we can see each other again in better circumstances.

TL;DR
Pros:
  • Nice combat and platforming with a good story
  • Solid soundtrack
  • Game's humor
  • Very good level design and boss fights
  • Good animations

Cons:
  • Few issues like at some times, if you spam too many buttons on the controller, character doesn't respond to your feedback and stands still for 2-3 seconds
  • Combat might get a bit repetitive, could've used more combo options
  • Controls might feel a bit messy at times

As this is the studio's first game, it's quite impressive and it's a good game as well. The combat and platforming are nice, but the combat might feel a bit repetitive at some point. However, the game really tries its best to keep the combat fresh with the new abilities and weapons. I believe it could've used a bit more depth, but as it is, it's still good. Boss fights are very good and enjoyable. Also well designed because not only do you have to beware of the boss itself, but you also have to beware of your surroundings otherwise you might die. The Story is good and the game has two endings. The dialogues are fun. They don't change anything in the game, but they try to make you more interested in the story, and, as I said, they're fun. The game has good humor and it uses it on those dialogues very well. And the soundtrack, it needs to be released ASAP. It goes very well with the combat and the soundtrack is very, very good. I've also noticed a few bugs like if you spam multiple buttons on your controller, the character stands still and doesn't respond to anything, no feedback for 2-3 seconds. Other than that, it's a very good and challenging experience and also features New Game+
