Yes, it has indeed gotten worse.

My own personal Relic cheaters/griefers/D5 dead weights/DoN dodgers/third-wheeling duos in Trios list has grown exponentially. I even just came back from a match with a Chinese Relic cheater with under 400h at D4.

I wish I could choose my regions and match up with Japanese, Russian, American, or any other nationality of players, because my goodness, I've gotten tired of all the "ni hao" in my games.

Hi! Do you remember my comment on the forum about the statistics of runs and how many cheaters there are?
Since February 6, I have started keeping more detailed statistics and I only record runs with random players. And the situation has actually gotten worse :D. Right now I haev logged about ~240 games, but I want more data. I'll prepare a thread about this later.
Just to say in advance, I also played through a VPN to get region locked matchmaking with Japan, and it's not any better there - it's the same story, everything's bad. The number of relic cheaters is proportionally about the same as worldwide, and yeah, Japanese players probably make up only around 20% at most, and even that I'm not sure about.

I somehow saw that right as it was posted and all I could think was "Don't get your Steam Daddy mad, kittens."
