I'm a long time stalker fan, so I'm used to a certain level of bugginess on release, but there are major issues with the game.
Don't buy, wait for some patches.

- Progression blocking main quest bugs, requiring mods and console commands to get past.
- Bugs in some side quests which make them uncompletable.
- Game balance is way off. Bullet sponge mutants, insanely high repair costs.
- Enemies literally spawning behind you/beside you rather than far away. Immersion breaking.
- A-Life missing, the company lied about it and removed it from the steam page just before release.
- The occasional game crash.

We shouldn't pay AAA price for something like this.
Game looks good though.

EDIT: They released v1.0.1 and v1.0.2 which addresses many quest bugs and balance issues, but there are still plenty of quest bugs.

I actually like this game for what it is: a DnD themed dungeon crawler with a high level of difficulty.
The classes and gear upgrades are pretty good.

What I dislike:
- Game is unfair even on the standard Core Rules difficulty and a well balanced party, requiring foreknowledge of how the encounters play out, what spells you need to counter enemies, or kiting enemies into chokepoints.
- The final boss is borderline impossible even for a well balanced party with -8 AC and +3 weapons. Had to kite him around a room for 20+ minutes. Probably the worst boss fight I've ever experienced.
- A little too much running back and forth through dungeons you've cleared.

If you feel like reading a novel this is the game for you.
I feel like this is one of the most overrated games I've ever played, but with that said I enjoyed a good portion of it.

The good:
- Excellent dialogue and writing. Very detailed, and there is lots of it.
- Interesting setting, main character, and plot.
- Sometimes multiple ways to complete quests.

The bad:
- The combat is pretty bad. Icewind Dale which the company went on to produce after this game does it so much better.
- 80% of the game is running around a city talking to NPCs and doing fetch quests.
- Game is balanced around having your main character be unkillable.
- It's very easy to leave party members in locations that are no longer accessible if you reform your party, never to be seen again.
- For a city that has portals to other realms everywhere, it was practically not utilised at all.

So-So:
The ending wasn't bad, but not thrilling either.

I really wanted to like this game, but gosh it's bad.

I quickly got over the janky UI and controls. The first handful of missions were easy, but very slow.
Very soon you go through a wormhole and this is where the game goes from bad to worse.

Despite having 4/5 weapon slots with anti-shield weapons, I cant drop the enemy shields.
Despite telling my ship to attack a specific target it fires randomly at every ship, even if I manually assign indiviudal weapons to attack a target. My ship simply won't focus down an enemy.

The result is that a simple 'battle' if you can even call it that goes on forever and ever.
I could go take a shower and have lunch and they'd still be clumsily floating around trying to get the shields down. What a joke.

I really wanted to like this game more than I did. It feels rushed.
I've always loved Fallout & Fallout 2 and other turn based games, and old school RPGs like Balders Gate. This is similar, but not quite as good.
Overall I'd say the first 1/3 of the game is pretty solid, but by the second half things will start to grate on you.
There is a good reason why everyone on my friends list has played only a handful of hours on this game before quitting, never to be touched again.

Let me list my annoyances.

Quests
- Even most of the way through the game you will still get pointless fetch quests. Go get denture cream so an old man can eat. Go find some shampoo to stop someones dandruff, go get a microscope from the next town over. If they think these are funny or interesting quests, they aren't.
- The entire Hollywood quest hub is a grind, and you can tell it was rushed with unfinshed areas. You can do some tasks out of order, and of course you'll have to revisit them to tick the quest off.

Exploration
- There are a handful of good interesting areas in the game. Most of the areas are small and over in 2-5 minutes, completely forgettable. The rest are boring quest hubs/towns that have you running back and forth back and forth. Running, running, running.
You aren't free to explore the overworld and go where you like, unlike Fallouts. Major locations must be visited in order. So much so that one of the major tropes of the game is upgrading your radiation suits to cross deadly radiation barriers. You only get these upgrades when you've done what the game wants you to.
- They assume you've already played Wasteland 1. So many references to things I have no clue about.

Characters
- Half of your skill points will be spent just to open doors and containers... Lockpicking, Safecracking, Brute Force, Alarm Disarming, Mechanical Repair, Computers. Only a handful of times will you get to use these skills for something other than opening things.
- The 3 different talking skills Smart Ass, Hard Ass, Kiss Ass rarely show up, and when they do it doesn't fundamentally change how things unfold.
- Most of the character perks are underwhelming. For something so rare they should be more interesting and valuable. This is something Fallout always did right, they felt impactful and character building in those games. in Wasteland 2 I stopped caring about them pretty quickly.
- Certain weapons and skill trees are worthless. Shotguns for example. When 90% of enemies are armoured your shotgun specialist isn't doing much. SMGs suffer from this slightly as well, but not as bad. With ammo rarity, you can't have everyone running Assault Rifles and Heavy Weapons. Have fun with that.

Game Mechanics
- Game balance in general is off. Some encounters are easy, then the next moment some armoured robots are killing your entire team. Even your super tank character can get 1 shot.
- One of the main ways of making money is collecting junk items and vendoring them using the "Sell Junk" button. These just clutter your inventory and take up a lot of weight. Towards the end I stopped looting out of frustration.
- Sometimes you have to give specific items to NPCs and searching through all of your parties inventories is a nightmare. Why not just do what every RPG has done EVER and automatically detect and hand in items? Bizarre.

Technical/Bugs
- The graphics are mediocre, even for the time it was released. Janky animations and cutscenes. I'd expect this from a game released in 2007, Not 2014.
- Even now in 2021 I encountered bugs. Things like getting stuck in combat/never-ending turn. UI bugs. A weird one where my fps went down to 25-30 until I restarted the game. Grass/Shadows disappearing/reappearing.
- Under some conditions perks you've unlocked will still be locked as if you haven't fulfilled the requirements.
- Some enemies were untargetable because they were under a roof or something and I couldn't click on them, can't change the camera angle.
- Last but certainly not least the camera angle is locked, but you can zoom in and out. It almost like they intentionally designed the most annoying angle they could. Not completely top down, but not quite low enough to see where your characters are going. Out of everything wrong with this game, this annoyed me the most.
- Additionally the camera will 'snap' to your character all the damn time. Start of their turn, during their shooting. If the enemy is off screen you have to drag back over there every damn time for every action.

Really solid co-op game. Kudos to the developers.

Great variation of difficulty ranging from snoozing to losing. There is also added difficulty with random map modifiers that show up such as Low Oxygen requiring you to time your adventures away from structures carefully, Regenerative Bugs, or Swarmageddon.
Great variation of biomes and mission types. Just as you get bored of the usual delving and mining you'll get something completely different.
Each class plays differently. Each offers a new experience along with new responsibilities to help your team succeed.
It's a little grindy to get all of your weapon and cosmetic unlocks, but you'll have a lot fun along the way.

Starting and joining games is a breeze with the server browser and quick join.
The game performs quite well, no crashes.

Typically my reviews focus on the negative, assume anything not mentioned is great/has no problems.
TLDR: Get it when it's 80% off or it's not worth it. There is not enough content for the money unless you like replaying the same 6 maps over and over.

Technical/Bugs
- Firstly, I could not get more than 30fps. Low GPU utilisation is a known issue that's never been fixed. Being stuck on 20-30 fps affected my aim a lot when I was in combat, but I mostly sneak around, so I put up with it.
- Always online DRM/Software as a service. (personally doesn't bother me, but does bother others)
- Encountered some bugs when trying to kill targets with certain 'accidents' had to take them out in other ways.

Content
- There are 8 levels, if you exclude the training levels, there are only 6. The least of any Hitman game. With that said, the levels are big with many ways to take out your targets. The idea here is for you to replay the levels killing both the same or different targets.
- Personally I think an extra couple of levels were needed, if you are playing for the story it feels like you only get the first quarter of one before they ask you to buy Hitman 2 for the rest.
- Plenty of ways to take out targets. Multiple 'accidents' that can happen, usually a way to snipe your target.
- Speaking of sniping, it's something you have to unlock on each map by doing multiple play throughs first. So if that's your preferred style you'll have to play sneaky first.

Gameplay
- Everything is generally pretty good when it comes to gameplay.
- There are some maps like Colorado where the AI will spot you doing things through bushes, boxes, clutter, etc.
- There a lot of small things that make the game feel good. Being escorted out of areas you're not supposed to be in, targets going into lockdown if they get alerted, throwing melee weapons to knock out people, securing camera surveillance footage.
- Unfortunately it feels very formulaic if you are doing things the 'right way.' Missions are typically: get disguise, setup 'accidents' for your 2 targets, get camera footage, leave.

Technical Problems.
There are still technical issues I run into more often than not. Either the FPS is incredibly low requiring you to restart the game, or the game freezes on a black screen on startup.
Runs well if you don't run into those issues half the time.

Gameplay.
Besides technical issues, the gameplay is rather bland and each game plays out more or less the same as every game before it. The environment/planet type really only changes the density of resources.
All factions have the same units, and whole early/mid game will just be the same 3-4 units until players tech up.
Faction bonuses, building bonuses, resource tiles are all really bland +1 point or 10% to X.
The alien miasma (tiles that do damage to your units) is everywhere and is more annoying than anything.
If you go to the effort of destroying an alien nest, it'll just respawn in X amount of turns unless you go out of your way to put a settlement near it.
The combat is ok, with melee and ranged units, terrain and flanking bonuses.
The AI Diplomacy is braindead.
The Tech tree is just a big web and even after playing 45 hours is confusing. No matter which tech path you choose you'll need to get research from all across this web. I feel like a branching tree would've been better.

There are plenty of games better than this that are more worth your time.
