I've played DMC 4 when I was a kid. Never really thought that DMC 5 gonna be real some day. At announcement day I was exieted, but I was not been able to play at launch and evaded spoilers as much as I can. And it was worth it. I can't really say DMC 5 is a mastepiece, there was many reused scenes from past games, but story telling, gameplay and (especially) music is great. I highly recomend to play it. And if after that you decide to play past games you can play in this order for better understanding of a story.
DMC 3 > DMC 1 > DMC Anime > DMC 2 > DMC 4 > DMC 5
