I don't really know where to start. I would probably like to start by thanking Eidos Montreal. In my opinion, they did something incredible!
The development of this game was almost 4 years, and it was released in 2021. And I can confidently say that Eidos didn't waste all this time!
Unfortunately, the failure of the previous game from the same studio cast a huge shadow on Guardians of the Galaxy. I am a fairly active gamer with a long history and I would like to say this: in my memory, there has NEVER been a game like this that has been HUGELY underrated. As many people have said before, it is CRIMINALLY underrated! If this game came out even right now, in the year 2025, I could safely and confidently say that it would be considering like a AAA project.
The graphics, the story, the narration. The work of the voice actors - all of this, was just on some unattainable level at the time of the game's release, looks VERY modern and beautiful!
The studio found five great actors, they fit perfectly into this universe. They took over the role of their characters very well.
The dialogs are great, there was not a single moment when during the game there was complete silence and no one was talking to anyone!
Here everything feels alive, the whole team of guardians is constantly talking, discussing something, arguing. But in the end accomplishes all the missions set before them.
To be honest, the game was perceived by me almost like a game movie, because there are even dialog choices! Yes, they don't have a strong impact on the story because it's linear and narrative, but still! It was just a flarking great journey!
What I would like to mention separately:
1. Photo mode. It's just great, I haven't seen such a simple and on the other hand, thoughtful solution in any other game.
2. The work of facial-animations and motion capture. This is also just something incredible! In fact, the character Rocket here, was one of the first and only ones of its kind to have a real person behind it, from start to finish. Not just a voice actor. Just like Groot!
3. Licensed music.
4. “Star Lord band” - a fiction musical group created SPECIAL for this game. Oh my God, that's so great! "Star lord band- Ghost"- is now one of my favorite tracks and forever on my playlist

Know that you did a great job. The studio handed you the tools, you did it!

A little afterword: I would love to see the studio (or what's left of it) or the new owners of Eidos ever revisit the idea of developing a sequel to this game!
Now, especially after the vol.3 Guardians of the Galaxy movie, the Guardians franchise has a huge fan base, don't miss your opportunity! Further Guardians movies-MCU is still very much in doubt, you can continue your story with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 right now! Very much hoping and waiting. Someday...
