Probably GOTY for me but it is not as perfect as I would have taught after playing the first two acts.

Spoilers below, do not read if you don't want to be spoiled.

Act 1 - Amazing. Not my favorite Act1/Prologue in a CRPG but almost flawless. Plot twists, smart interactions, tons of way to approach things, making hard decisions - having to manage companions and outbursts between them, having to decide which side to take, learning intriguing stuff about yourself and your companions. Side quest with real-time impact. Lots of barter between characters. Having to choose which path to take to Act2 (even though you can backtrack and do them both).

Act 2- Amazing but extremely short. The ambiance and the mystery is top notch. Felt like playing a horror game. The way the story reveals itself is awesome - I did not play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 but Jaheira and Halsin made me look up the lore and the cannon for it. Interactions were extremely creepy, the Moonrise Towers were amazingly done. Discovering the horrors that happened there (make sure you thoroughly search under the towers :) ) and uncovering the plot of the immortality of the "big bad immortal boss" of Act 2 followed by, probably the most epic fight of the game with the avatar of Myrkul himself - 10/10.

Act 3 - I am sorry what? Unfinished and cut.
It started promising with Orin teasing and plotting and with Gortash being the sociopath he is but that's about it. In addition to this, I found the companion side quests for Astarion and Shadowheart pretty interesting. Bonus - the visit to House of Hope if you choose to do so was also pretty cool.
But otherwise? Gortash literally stayed in his fortress waiting for me to either side with him or go after him to kill. Orin teased me a bit more and decided to yoink one of my companions but again, just waited for me to go after her.
Barter from the companions almost stopped entirely besides their side quests. Random dialogues regarding stuff I did not do yet or never will - like siding with Raphael and companions being mad about it. Or, another example, Mizora admitting she played unfair during a specific interaction but I was not there yet and she spoiled for me that she will be involved. I have learned that I can't complete properly Karlach backstory. Why did I collected Soul Coins and Hellforged Iron? Minsc character progression was almost zero and did not feel like he belonged to my party at all after I 'cure' him. Side quests lost all their impact if put in balance with the ones from Act 1 and Act 2. The Emperor revealing that he was Baldurian did not seem to have an impact to anyone.

Ending - None of my choices throughout the game actually mattered.

The tadpole powerups which I avoided using did not seem to matter that much unless I would have accepted the "conversion".
Yeah, I used as cannon fodder the "allies" I gained by completing the side quests but...what happened afterwards with them? Arabella said she will assist me but disappeared. Mol? Is Mol ok? What about Mizora? What about the "strange ox"? Did Zevlor continue as a hellrider? What will Yurgir do now that he is free of Raphael? What happened with Scratch and Owlbear? What happened to the Grove? What will happen with the Githyanki? Did Duke Ravengard resumed his position?
Why was it so easy for The Emperor to change sides and for Orpheus to accept me as his ally when I made the decision so late in the game?
Basically, what is the result of all the choices I have made throughout the game. No ending story whatsover.
What did happen to my other companions? I have got "closure" for Lae'zel (indirectly - I had to choose for her between two options), Karlach, Wyll, Shadowheart (indirectly, a two-line dialogue after a black screen where we supposedly "had fun last night" - ) and Astarion if by closure you mean few rushed one-liners. No "ending party" like we previously discussed. Last but not least, how about Minsc, Jaheira and Halsin? What are they doing? They did not say anything.

The game is not necessarily a horror. There are no jump scares or anything like that...but the pressure, man, the pressure.

You don't get a tutorial. You must learn from mistakes how to survive and you must make terrible choices. And that's the beauty of it.

More than 150 hours of lost time with this joke of a game. A great idea implemented bad by some greedy devs which originally were great. You should really reconsider if you are looking to buy the game.

It's early access, that's true, but in 6 months of development all they did was to add various cosmetic items and additional weapons to maximize their profits. Paying $19.99 for a "Free at Release" game is a bad idea.
