I discovered this gem in steam sale. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome game to say the least. Completed my first play-through yesterday. here's my review,
Oxenfree is a 2.5D supernatural adventure thriller where a bunch of teenagers went to an island to spend a holiday night and get stuck into a bunch of ♥♥♥♥.
PROs:
  1. The voice acting... oh the voice acting. I haven't heard this voice acting this good since don't know when. There r rpg like dialog selection and branching, but never once did it felt like the dialogs are out of place and unnatural. it was so natural and flowing. Which leads to...
  2. ...Great characterization. The writers and voice actors took cliche as ♥♥♥♥ characters and turn them is something else. All the characters were well fleshed out and believable.
  3. The story... I won't spoil much here. But the story is a perfect blend of mystery, creepy vibes along with equally prominent themes of coming-of-age and family. There r a lot of wtf moments too. The game and story telling is in such a way that you have to play at least twice. Also, the branches of story is very prominent and different decisions actually results in different ways to go forward and different endings.
  4. The graphics, which not great they certainly have a distinct art style. It is kinda 'Life is Strange'-ish cartoonish in a 2.5d world, Which I love very much.
CONs:
  1. Slow walking speed makes covering long distances seem like a chore. Also, u cannot always run. :(
Whoever haven't ought this game yet, just go and get it. U will not be disappointed.
