So Firaxis came to the rescue, promising to return to the roots of XCOM (note the lack of a hyphen this time around, although the logo does have a horizontal stripe taken out of the "COM"). Since Firaxis has a lot of ex-MicroProse people, a lot of them have had to do with the original as well, and the original musical score will make a return. Although it's changed a few things to avoid hurting the brains of delicate little console kiddies like removing time units, removing ballistic simulation, cutting down on your maximum amount of squad members (4 at the start and 6 maximum) and limiting us to one base (though each base location gives its own unique bonus), it still somehow manages to be a good game in its own right. If the original X-COM is like Mordheim, then XCOM is like Space Hulk: massively simplified and more heavily dependent on the luck of the die, but with less micromanagement and long-term planning required. Save-scumming is pretty much obligatory, the midgame difficulty ramp-up leaves you no time to train up a second team if your best get wiped out.

Eventually we got Enemy Within which is an expansion pack (and unlike most "horse armor" tier DLCs with the name this one actually deserves it) that completely re-defines how the game progresses, compared to the original one. The game's story still progresses like the original game, but expands on it for a more entertaining experience.

It adds the "meld" resource to the game, a type of alien organic/synthetic-hybrid nanomachine that allows you to unlock two powerful technologies: MEC and genetic modification. MEC allows your troops to interface with a Mechanized Exoskeleton Cybersuit, a heavy exoskeleton that brings the heaviest of weapons to the field (Including the option for a powerfist equivalent called a "Kinetic Strike Module". Yes, make your own faux Terminator squad! Especially when the Tier-3 Paladin upgrade bulks up your suit's armor that you look vaguely similar to Termies.). Genetic modification allows you to augment your troops using data gathered from dissected aliens, making them killier than ever before. In fact, you can create your own equivalent of an Imperial Space Marine with the list of available modifications you can do (Two of these specific upgrades are a second heart and the ability of self-regeneration). The neural dampener mod absolutely neuters the aliens' endgame trickery by giving troopers +20 will, immunity to panic, and immunity to mind control.

It also adds new aliens to the xenos' side, like a cloaking squid robot that chokes your troops to death and their own brand of exosuit troops. It also introduces another enemy into the game: EXALT. EXALT are a bunch of power-mad blokes who sees the alien's invasion as a way to gain power by adapting their technology for themselves, inching them closer to world domination. They see you as an obstacle and are determined to undermine your efforts to defeat the aliens by disrupting your operations through a number of ways and sowing panic amongst XCOM-member nations, generally making your already hectic life even more hectic. You must now defeat this new threat through a combination of cunning brutality and brutal cunning. They have most of your technologies to go toe-to-toe with you (Except for their own exosuits) and they are well hidden, so bringing them down won't be an easy affair.

If you haven't bought the game and you're a TBS fan I would highly recommend you give it a whirl at the modest price of $16.49 for all the good remade XCOM games because of our father Gabe Newell on PC.

As a warhammer fan and collector so far only 3 things really pissed me off
1) dawn of war 3
2) Age of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
3) Vermintide
Now you might ask why vermintide pissed me off so badly and why i'm giving warhammer game thumb down here listen to this story.
I purchased vermintide during the sale i was curious because l4d formula is enjoyable and not many games are capable of making something original in l4d style i enjoyed Deep rock galactic and even i knew that vermintide isn't deep rock galactic i still gave it a shot after launching the game i see a custom launcher with several buttons. mods button is locked and apparently is never going to be unlocked as the developers abandoned this game it feels like early access launcher and i wouldn't mind that if this was early access game and not fully paid one not to mention you can install mods from modnexus already.

You can tell that game is going to be bad when once you launch the game it throws you into a game without even allowing you to edit your settings i must admit at least in vermintide you are in the inn which looks really ugly you are like whatever and you want to change your controls so after that you want to go into some action slaughter some skaven ratmen once you click on that map you are welcomed by the most disgusting and terrible designed UI in my life everything is chaotic and you have no idea what half of these buttons on your screen do then after you wake up from that shock you will get another shock and it comes from that except for the main campaign everything else on the map is locked behind a paywall so you have only 10% of the original content pretty fun right? And there are like 8 maps which is like 2 chapters from the original left 4 dead and even that game had more chapters and they weren't locked behind a paywall so you are still hoping the game is going to be fine and these things are just minor.

So when i finally got into a game i noticed one thing my controls broke for some reasons my left mouse button conflicts with arrows on my keyboard and buttons are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and often they unbind themselves for no reason this is a serious problem and it only made me more angry eventually i got lucky and managed to workaround that problem before i got smashed with another problem game has terrible colors correction everything is barely visible and you have no idea who is who, your HUD is crap, you cant even see where are you teammates l4d 90% of all maps were in super dark places where you needed flashlight and still your teammates were outlined so you could know where they are and who is player and who is a bot not in vermintide i sometimes ended up attacking my own teammate because i couldn't recognize him during skaven mob attack which is equal to zombies wave, another issuse that pissed me off was that many enemies felt like they were copy pasted from l4d enshin assassin is hunter from l4d. catcher is smoker etc, not it only feels like the developers couldn't be bothered to make something original but they even mock it by giving us same animations for getting attacked by assassin which looks like if someone ripped l4d animations and ported them into vermintide.

whole combat feels weird its not even satisfying enemies got weird hitboxes, most of the time you have no idea where to go etc.

I could continue but i feel like i have told you enough i wouldn't recommend it to anyone even to my fellow warhammer fans if you really want to play something what's really fun play Left 4 dead or deep rock galactic avoid this mess at all cost.

This game is pretty much in super BETA status and it's pretty much fresh game over the time you can expect more people from ToS and ToL to migrate as so far you will barely meet any player I would recommend it only if you have friends to play it with and i would take it as a future investment as i believe this game gets more popular over time so for me it's thumb up

What can change the nature of a man?

Planescape: Torment is a CRPG which is set, oddly enough, in the world of Planescape. The protagonist wakes up in a mortuary with a talking skull floating next to him, which proceeds to read the tattoos on his back and tell him what they instruct him to do.

The game is incredibly text-heavy, and most fights can be successfully talked out of with the exception of the occasional random encounter with street thugs and a couple of bosses.

Despite poor sales (because, y'know, reading's hard), this game has since gained a massive cult following among roleplayers. A spiritual successor called Torment: Tides of Numenera, set in Monte Cook's tabletop setting of the same name, was recently announced on Kickstarter and proceeded to get ♥♥♥♥ done. It finally came out in early 2017, although quite a bit of the promised content is either missing outright or delayed until a free DLC.

The plot
After waking up in the mortuary the main character known only as 'The Nameless One' can adventure out to find himself in the fabled City of Doors itself, Sigil. From there he must gain allies and eventually find out about himself; particularly why he is unable to stay dead. The game begins in the Hive portion of Sigil and later into the Clerk and Upper wards as well as into The Lady's Mazes, Carceri and the hells themselves. All the while you get to enjoy thugs around every corner, demons, shadows that are trying to kill you (again) and the general charm of Sigil's varied people.

EDITED: So some bugs i have mentioned in this review has got patched but still this game is horribly bugged and suffers on balance so still im not recommending this port
We were waiting decades for a proper Blood remaster because greedy Atari never released Blood source so all we had to do was reverse engineer the DOS version of blood Sadly this new port is broken and it's filled with bugs the most notorious are (CD music is broken, fov slider is broken and can go past infinity, movement glitch fix only causes more glitches, cultists won't throw dynamites at you and fanatics aren't supposed to throw dynamites and yet they still are doing throwing animation, Vulkan render is broken and it has so many dumb crashes + balance issues)

Watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkG29e-nE-A it has more details about this game and why this port sucks so far i would recommend using Nblood or BloodGDX over this until they fix their port it's a sad thing that this happened

A mini expansion pack that adds 4 mini-campaigns detailing some of the adventures of Bradford and Lily Shen during the tumultuous days of ADVENT's takeover, adds new weapons to your WotC playthrough for each of these mini-campaigns you beat, allows you to choose between three soundtracks, (X-COM 1, X-COM 2, and Legacy Remixes), allows free access to all of the 100 challenges rather than the random daily challenge system, and even allows you to make your own challenge missions. Also has more than a few bugs and oddities that needs to be fixed with workshop mods. However it isn't as a glitchy broken mess compared to some other games.

IT WAS Free until Dec 3rd, 2018, for all WotC owners. Though it's still a cheap.
