Old School RuneScape is not just a nostalgia trip for players like myself who have been actively playing the game since 2004, but it's also a snapshot of a different time when MMORPGs were harder, more grueling games. This game's release on Steam is a feeling of bitter sweet victory for any player that was around for the initial vote on RuneScape's website to make Old School a reality, one that received over 450K votes from its players.

If you're a new player, look through the rough exterior of its graphics, and let exploration be the only thing guiding you. This game is the pinnacle of MMOs for plenty of gamers, and Jagex deserves praise for being one of the very first game companies to step back, listen to its fans, and supply an actual old copy of its game world. If it weren't for this game, World of Warcraft fans may have never received WoW Classic. Before the Steam launch, the player-base has been alive and well, and now that it's on such a utilized platform like Steam, this can certainly breathe new life into the game. However, you should utilize the RuneLite client over the Steam launcher for the incredible QOL features.
