As a newcomer to the victoria games, but not a newcomer to other paradox title such as ue4, ck2/3, hoi4, and stellaris, I can say that this game has all of the building blocks it needs to be a good game. This being said, it's release patch is atrocious. I have a computer that should exceed the requirements for this game, i have frame drops consistently when I zoom in to the more detailed map mode, or the game auto-saves, which it does frequently. There is an option to disable auto saving, or even lower the frequency. I would not suggest this, as in my 14 hours of playtime I have had 5 random crashes. Overall, I would wait till they either release dlc to improve the game's unengaging military system, or the game is meaningfully patched in terms of stability and optimization.
