Right now its in Alpha so many things are bound to change or be tweaked while the devs figure out what direction they want it to go and how to make it fun for the players.

I got the game shortly after it came out, so I've been here since the beginning. I'm convinced the devs just don't give a ♥♥♥♥.

It works sometimes, freezes my entire PC the next day for no reason, no updates to anything it just fails. Coming up on 2 years and they haven't done crap to fix much of anything, instead they seem to just nerf the good weapons ON A PVE GAME

Buy at your own risk, it might work, it might just brick your PC, with no fix in sight.

The base you start out in looks like the screenshots, and it looks ok, just a pain to get around.

The world however looks like dog crap freshly laid out on your front porch.

Was told to accept a random job from one of the people from the base, and then shoved out into the world. Within 20 minutes saw 1 zombie that took an entire 10 shots in the head to put down, heard gunfire multiple times around the tall buildings, then got killed by another player and lost all my low level stuff. If I wanted to play DAYZ I could easily go play that instead, no mention of PVP in the game at all, this game tries to be so much more than just a decent game, a mix of all other games mixed into one but they couldnt even do that right.

And yes this is early access, pretty much playing the Beta version and updates down the road will likely fix or change so many things. Game just isn't fun at this stage.

Great $5 game selling for $60

Get this game on sale if you can, but not at full price, its about 20 hours of actual gameplay before you see nearly everything. Eventually you'll find a way to make money easily. then you have all the ships you really like, the frigate that fits your design, a settlement on some planet that you check on whenever you pop on. Then at some point you start following the main story line and the sub quests to "finish" the game and then keep going.

Fun solo, great with friends, only downside is it may need a beast of a machine to run beyond low settings. The sound is great, the visuals are stunning at max.

Since GPU are still hard to find at non-scalper price, I ended up getting a laptop with a 3070 inside, plug in an external monitor to play on a bigger screen. Handles epic settings rather well.

The game feels a little unbalanced at times, really in the sense of crafting the highest tier of tools/benches. This is a gather/craft/build type of game, with a little hunting and farming mixed in. Best to just learn as you play. Your house/camp will probably not be as detailed as some other games (we currently cannot sit in chairs made from the workbench, hopefully fixed later) but it will still feel secure as any other in-game house you can make, as each material you build with (thatch/wood/stone/aluminum/concrete/glass) has its own strengths (though stone will outlast any weather event without needing repair).

All in all, feels like an early access game, not alot of bugs encountered though there are a handful reported, its a full release but they are still patching and balancing out. Theres no pvp its all PVE, but you can accidentally KO a team mate.

6 hours in and I got past the first part. I thought id be doing jobs left and right and upgrading myself with augments and character levels, instead Im thrown into a story thats captivating. Alot of scenes we all saw from the trailers, and more than what I ever imagined. The various npcs roaming the area are vast and different. Sometimes I saw clones walking side by side but thats kind of expected in the thousands of people I saw in game.

Need to actually sleep now so I can continue my journey.

Better than the bethesda launcher, just run it through steam. While the combat can still be janky compared to Fallout 4 (like enemy melee from beyond melee range) its still a fun game.

I'd recommend sticking with certain weapon types instead of trying to have one of each weapon type. Go for a combo of like shotguns and 1 armed melee, or pistols and rifles, or anything really.

Vs Fallout 4 where you could have heavy/pistol/rifle/melee/energy/sneak and still do damage with the right perks, Fallout 76 makes it good to have an actual build as you can only have so many points (15 max) in the SPECIAL.

Single player is fun, not amazing but fun with just the amount of things going on, beat the story and then play again with mods/trainer-mod to have instant access to cheats and spawnable cars. Set it to no cops ever or set it to 5 stars and go on rampages as a God.

Step into multiplayer at your own risk, or don'let even bother. Some random player with an orbital strike will nuke you just for the hell of it. Unless you got a pack of friends to play privately with, its just a bunch of people not from your own country spamming the mics, or people using hacks online to spawn a ferris wheel on your head.

Great combat and fun mechanics. A pretty old game (early 2000 I beleive) but still very fun. Don't know if anyone still plays online but the bots are fun enough.
