Excellent game. I hate early access titles, but roguelikes are inherently suited to be early access titles because you will be replaying the same content whether it is finished or not. I can tell that CoQ has always been a labor of love; it was a great game before the graphics and sounds were added, but their addition has only reinforced the quality of the game.

CoQ stands out among other roguelikes for it's unique setting, simulation, and adventures; sharing many of the things that make Dwarf Fortress great, but without the tediously detailed simulation found in adventure mode. The closest comparison I can provide would be the differences between D&D Basic/Expert/Companion/Master/Immortal and AD&D 1e. Both are essentially the same game, but in practical execution one is bogged down by procedures and rules [AD&D], and the other is free to circumvent simulation when it aids the flow of gameplay.

I could easily find myself buying this again on other platforms.

OMG yes! I've been playing this for a while now and I'm hooked. Totally agree on the early access thing, especially with how replayable it is. This is def one of the best roguelikes out there.
