A more German game does not exist.

I know this game is not from Germany, but it might as well be by being such a great work simulator. Spending hours on cleaning debris, filling paths with sand, flattening them and pouring asphalt does not sound like a lot of fun, but once I got the hang of the rather finnicky controls the game set me in a flow work state, that was very enjoyable.

I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing after work hours game, but I would only play it with 2 or more friends, since otherwise the workload is just too much to handle in a reasonable amount of time. Don't worry, there is cross-progression across all players.

This game does not deserve a 90% rating and I am baffled how it does.

For every mystery fan, the story of the first entry is indeed not fixed with this continuation, instead more questions arise, that are never answered. It is just mystery for mystery's sake.

The gameplay is horrendous, be it the combat, base building or map traversal. None of it is designed with care and the game does not seem to have had any design guideline. Just a nitpick example: The drink from cooking pot button is right-click in the inventory, but right-click outside it, makes you dump the contents out instead.

In conclusion, this game is pure, unadulterated jank and recommended for those who like a trashy adventure, but do not expect anything more.

A Fantastic New Entry In This Series

This installment of Monster Hunter has everything I love and expect from a Monster Hunter Game; fantastic and cinematic combat, an orchestral soundtrack and a lot of love in the little details. It even added further mechanics but without harming the essence and core, like the new weapon combo options and the wound mechanic.

Combined with the slower introduction to the game, it is by far the most accessible entry. And the more join in on the fun, the better, so it is all the more frustrating that this entry is horribly optimized. Monster Hunter World back in the day already maxed out every CPU core for no reason, but this one needs hardware requirements beyond good and evil, some of it stemming from the useless anti-piracy and anti-cheat software. The latter makes absolutely no sense in a PvE game.

A fantastic love letter to Harvest Moon

The thing about remakes or spiritual successors is that they not only have to meet the quality of its predecessor but also surpass them to the degree that they match our nostalgic expectations of playing the predecessor for the first time.

Stardew Valley surpasses it by so much that it is an insult to name the game in the same breath as Harvest Moon. It is filled with so much bubbly love that it sometimes feels like close to bursting. The theme, the dialogs and the feeling of progression keeps me hooked to this day.

I am 14 again and downloading No Copyright Sound Music with the YouTube to MP3 Converter - and I love it!

I played this game already on the Switch for an endless amount of time and can recommend it to any fan of the bullet hell genre. Be aware, that this game is fully committing to the 2012 dubstep music.

They added a newly composed dubstep remix of the Shovel Knight track "Halls of the Usurper" and so many more, which actually became one of my favorite songs of all time.

After one year, I finished my journey

All the places and people, I've encountered ...

I've seen bugs come and go. I've experienced the improved UI and most of all I experienced the game in all its glory.

This game was an epiphany and one of the biggest masterworks in gaming history, I will have seen in my life.

The care and love which went into it will be unmet for a long time to come. The bold and complex story arcs, each setups met with a satisfying pay-offs kept me hooked until the very end.

The unapologetic game design which forced me to learn the intricacies of the systems were also payed off with rewarding victories after tough battles.

But don't get me wrong, the difficulty slider and the ever so slight handholding make the game accessible to everyone and I hope as many people as possible can experience this unique journey for it is one, you never forget.

The idea of combining Streets of Rage with rogue-like elements is so great, that it hurts so much greater, that its such a bad execution of this idea.

The randomness should more so be in the quality of the items you find than in the difficulty of each individual level. The items range from completely useless to very slight upgrades, which is sad, because nutters synergies are often the biggest appeal of rogue-likes.

One might then hope for rogue-light elements, meaning a skill tree between runs, but that one sucks even more. You only unlock more moves, that are too slow to be viable.

This game came so close to the level of perfection of Portal 2, that I forgot I was playing a mod. Grüße aus Deutschland! Der absolute Oberknaller!

A great sequel with a few steps back

Remnant 2 does not stray too far from its predecessor but it introduces several improvements along the way. These being a better class system, many, many upgrade systems and more creative level layouts.

But sadly, a lot new issues, too.

The experience system no longer gradually awards skill points for playing, instead you only find them hidden in levels. I loved the system of the first installment, because you always had a small motivation to continue.

The game's performance gulps hardware power like there is no tomorrow. Be prepared for that.

And sadly, after introducing a lot of new and interesting lore, the ending of the story manages to destroy the entire lore of this and the last game. I won't spoil it here but my friends and I let out a huge sigh and it will be dialog-skipping from here on out.
