A rather interesting concept that we don't often see. Works well with 5 friends, not so much with random people. Unless said random people all leave their mics open or join a teamspeak server and share in good laughs when they get freaked out by a monster appearing in front of them or tearing them to pieces.

Ultimately though, this game is lacking variety right now. It is an Alpha, so I will give it that. The gameplay is simple, find the keys or codes to unlock doors or safes to find more keys and codes. Eventually, you'll find a tool to pull wooden boards off of a door. After that door is unlocked you escape from the monster. There are a few maps so far, so it does get repetitive eventually. Withut any dynamic events happening, I don't think it will ever stop being repetitive. Anyways, there are only two monsters aka creatures. One of which is not as fun as the other.

There's the Phantom. Which is the not-so-fun monster. As the Phantom you float around as a half decayed torso imbued with some evil magic or something. You float around decently fast and are allowed to pass through closed doors. Which is the only thing scary about this monster. From only a few play attempts it was clear to me that it was pretty overpowered and did not provide that great of an experience, both for the monster player, nor the character players.

The second and so far final monster, the Lurker is a rather intimidating piece of work. Though when I think about it, I find that it also resembles the Phantom in a way as they share a common trait. They both can get through closed doors. The Lurker is a little more difficult to get through though. There are two phases to this monster. Your "ghost" phase, and your "flesh" phase. In the ghost phase you are unable to see or hear the players, but you're allowed to set traps. The traps range from pianos, to kitchen timers, to creaky boards. Unfortunately there are no visual traps like falling chairs, chandeliers, or candles that would blow out or anything like that. Then if you are near a trap you set that goes off, you click and change into your flesh form for a limited time. In this time you are to chase down and kill the player near you.

For the Alpha that it is. Damned is definitely entertaining. If you are a streamer, this is a good kind of game to play with friends while live. Especially if you're easily scared/really jumpy. But don't play it too much or you'll get bored!

For the Alpha that it is, I give it a 6.5/10.
It definitely needs some updates to add some more fun to it. More creatures, more maps, and hopefully eventually some more dynamism.
