What a game. Being a tactical shooter, Void Interactive has done an amazing job with their environmental storytelling, and they've also released some banger DLCs onto an already great base game. I've played this since it was a bare-bones early access game, and it has come a long way.

Some constructive criticism:
- The suspect AI is much better than what it used to be, but it needs a bit more work, like the SWAT AI being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ most of the time, civilians not obeying to surrender even if you repeatedly yell for compliance (why?) and suspects doming you with their backs turned to you while running sideways at full speed are some examples.
- I urge Void to learn from RoN's modding community - they've actually made some really good mods that make the game even more enjoyable. Worth looking into.

If you enjoy games like Little Nightmares, Inside or Limbo - this game is for you. The atmosphere is great, and although it's difficult to get what the story is about, once you do - you like it.

Posting this review after playing Episode 5. Now I'm sure Hinterland just thinks their players are stupid. They've really included minimal content but did their absolute best to stretch the game to 8 hours with as little work as possible. But of course gamers are not stupid and we can see through your petty attempts to do this. Here are some good examples on how they are doing this:

- They make an entire chapter with MacKenzie where you can't really hunt, rest or collect items because you are on a "timer". But 99% of this chapter is just walking. And after the timer ends its again a flat road which literally takes like 10 minutes till the end of the chapter.
- There is a sequence indoors where you have to follow an NPC for 3,5 minutes straight - through corridors which scream minimal development, they literally look like Half Life 1 Black Mesa corridors. Just a pathetic attempt to make the game longer without having to put actual work on it.
- Are you ready for the best one? There is one moment where you have to navigate within a facility, but you are not given the option to take a rest - therefore you cannot sprint and because of the fact that you land there after the "timer" mission, you are dead tired. So you are forced to walk through the entire chapter, adding probably like 20-25 mins or so.

Yes, The Long Dark fans - this is what you get after waiting for 5 years. An episode that insults your intelligence. I think Hinterland needs to issue a formal apology if they really want their fans to trust them with Blackfrost.

Well the game doesn't launch so I don't know what to say. Steam says the game is running but I can't get past the splash screen; so I stopped trying before the counter hits 2 hours and asked for a refund.

I'll just have to play it through other means ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As long as you force PC players to play against people with aim assist these reviews are unlikely to turn positive. You do realise that in a game with such high mobility, some players having aim assist while others do not is game breaking for a competitive shooter?

Try and matchmake aim assist players exclusively together and you'll get rid of this issue.

Charging full price for an expansion while there is info out there that it was planned as a DLC is a good way to get negative light on your game.

The survivors are nerfed so hard this year; if you think you'll have fun with your friends prepare to get swooped and regret buying the game together.

Still a great game after the 1896 update - but servers are broken and players can't connect to the game. More than couple of times I had to give up my hunter because I simply couldn't connect to the game and no matter how many times I tried it just wouldn't load for me.
