It has some unique mechanics, a fun story, and a finely polished aesthetic. I really love exploring the world while aware that I could be invaded by another player at any time.

Started this for post-partum death stranding joy, but it turned out to be one of the best MGS games of all, right up there with 1 and 2. Kojima is a mad genius, but in order to appreciate this game, it's critical that you hold your judgment well beyond your initial forays into the game, certainly past the intro. The intro is linear, confusing, and even a bit boring -- keep going! It gets better, and it continues to get better and better as the game progresses, continuing far beyond the point where you expect that you're already experiencing the "full" game.

still quite good in 2021.

First pilot game I thought was really fun in VR

The visuals are uninspired garbage and the game industry is oversaturated with this genre, but I can't deny this game is a heck of a lot of fun. Def recommend
