Arc raiders has the makings of a decent game, the concept is fun and well done however in its current state it plays more like a pre-alpha than a finished product, even if intended as a live service game.

Movement feels awful, its clunky and sluggish, trying to escape the larger ARCs feels like a slug trying to run from a bird. Enemy types are very unappealing, no-one likes the classic "drone with a tazer" enemy that's present in every 3rd person shooter, arc raiders decided to make every enemy bar 2-3 this kind of enemy, more variety in enemies would make for much more interesting world traversal.

Which leads to my main gripe; lack of variety, there are only half a dozen guns in the game, with "better" ones simply being the same gun but with a higher number next to them with better stats, and all lootables are either for selling or recycling down into the same 4 base resources regardless of what that item is, all these combined makes it feel like there is no drive to play; you take out your "pistol II" and find a bunch of stuff, when you return to base that stuff turns into 3000 coins, 4 plastic and 5 metal, and if you do that loop enough you can get "pistol III".

I love extraction shooters and really wanted to like this game, but its minimal gear choice and uninspired loot system reminds me of The cycle frontier, another game with very similar concept but the same underlying issues, one that is now dead in the water, I feel ARC raiders, despite having some good visuals and redeeming qualities is joining the graveyard of "the next big looter shooter... surely".
