I played D2 in vanilla and it was awesome. I finished it three times, once for each class, because you had to back then.

Every one of the four times I've tried to return has been an absolute nightmare. This game exists to serve it's existing playerbase - if you've fallen out of the cycle, don't bother, the unskippable mission you will get dropped into will be well above your power level and while I know it will be great if i can catch up, I either can't figure out how to or will be autoscaled to a level where it's nearly impossible.

I want to love this game. I want to play it. But returning to it is one of the worst experiences I've ever had attempting to pick up a game, AND I PLAY PATH OF EXILE.
