best game of the last 20 years

not a troll post whatsoever, but it says I have 50+ hours in this game, and I have no recollection of ever playing it...kinda suspicious...maybe I just forgot, but seems kinda weird/shady to me.

DO NOT GO IN TO IT expecting a MOBA type game. It is quite different than dota. Initially I was not into it, gave it another chance and I am liking it. But if you play dota, it seems pretty much all of the abilities are based on actual dota abilities. So with a quick glance at a unit, you will know quite quickly what that unit does, so that cuts down on some stuff you have to learn I guess.

Never played an auto chess game before, and still do not fully understand what it is. But if you are curious, and enjoy dota, this could be your thing.

Going to keep this short (because I could talk about this game for awhile), this is one of my favorite games of all time, definitely in my top 10. If you have never played this game before and dont mind playing older games with older graphics, I would highly recommend it.

The only major issue with this port is the music (there is a mod to fix this). FFVIII has amazing music, but for the PC version, due to limited power of sound cards at the time, all the higher quality songs were changd to MIDI versions. Which, if you are like me, is kind of a deal breaker because music plays a huge role in these games. Someone made an excellent program/mod aptly named roses and wine. The creator of this mod not only was able to make it possible to get the old music back, but it is even higher quality.

It is sad that one person had to make this mod for no profit though, where square could fix the issue in a day if they really cared. It is almost enough to make me give this a thumbs down just to bring attention to the issue, but seeing that it is fixable and I do enjoy having it on steam, giving it a thumbs up.

Very short but very sweet. Idk if I would pay more than 5 for this game, as it is only several hours of gameplay if even that. The style is amazing though, wish more games were like this.

I really don't know what to say, this is my favorite game of all time, and it has been for years. I have played it over and over again since I discovered it over 10 years ago. The rare FPS/RPG genre done perfectly. Tons of replay value. Amazing story, amazing gameplay, very immersive. If you can get over the aged graphics, play this game if you have not.
