Cyberpunk Half Life 2, essentially. Interesting setting where Earth is a giant junkyard and people have to wear rad-suits outside or be burnt in acid rain or scorched by radiation. It's obviously inspired by 80's/90's cyberpunk media (Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner etc.) but manages to still be unique on its own. It's a pretty rough gem unfortunately as it's incredibly long (about 2x the length of HL2 while offering not much more) and the levels tend to get very confusing. A lot of times you'll have to climb what you thought was a background prop and scale a small ledge in order to progress. By the time you get used to the flow of the level design, it starts becoming linear hallways.

I enjoyed the game but I could understand if someone quit a few hours in. If you're interested in the cyberpunk genre or source engine games, watch some walkthrough vids to see if you can tolerate it or not. It's a pretty unique game, which is one of the few reasons I had patience for it.

Don't be off put by the character art, either use the original sprites or console sprites, both of which are far better in my opinion. Either use the 07th mod (https://wiki.07th-mod.com/Umineko/Umineko-Getting-started/) for original sprites, or Umineko Project (https://www.umineko-project.org/en/) for the console sprites. I played using 07th mod and original sprites.

Umineko is a very unique and memorable murder mystery/horror with some of the most difficult mysteries I've seen so far. Despite the large cast of characters, starting at introducing you to nearly 18 characters(!) in the first chapter before adding more and more each chapter. However, it manages to pull off complex characters and unlikable characters that you will later root for. By the end of chapter 2 you'll probably be able to name each character solely based off their silhouette or talking style alone. Voice acting from the patches also heavily elevates it.

It's on the long side of VN's, being around 100-200+ hours to fully finish both the Questions and Answers arcs, but it's fantastic from start to finish and it's easily in one of my personal top 10 VN lists. Play blind or play Higurashi first for the best experience.

If you wished STALKER had more Roadside Picnic influences in it, this is the game for you. It's kinda hard to avoid the STALKER comparisons but it's inevitable with how the game looks, not that it makes it bad because it still manages to stand out and be unique on its own. If you like STALKER or old school cRPG's you definitely will enjoy this, it's also made by just one guy so for the price of $15 it's worth at least one (or more) playthroughs.

Great atmospheric game that has you operate a rusty iron coffin pretending to be a submarine. You mostly play by navigating off coordinates and checking your map, but the game relies more on sound and barely letting you see outside unless you want to use your grainy camera. Had me tense up at times, and $6 isn't so bad for a 1 hour game that you can replay however many times you want.

Probably one of the few games released in 2021 that I'm excited to see get finished all the way. Was promised to be a successor to SWAT 4, a love-letter to tactical games of old. Had a rocky start with showing off the PVP but I'm glad to say that now the beta is out and we can play the PVE, it's definitely like the SWAT 4 I remembered it as. Great fun if you have a friend group to play it with but it's also got AI teamates you can give commands to in solo play. Can't wait for the day this is completely released, and I'm onboard with it all the way.

Probably the the best game I've played, not even kidding. And I play a lot of great games.

It's essentially a dialogue-heavy game focusing on mystery while also delving into self-talk, personifying the influences you get (For example, sex drive is personified by Electro-Chemistry, logical by well... logical, etc) and having really well written characters. Much like most other cRPG games, it really shines when you do the side quests as well as the main quest, so try not to rush it.

But this is a definite recommendation, I don't know what you're doing if you haven't played this to be honest.

Really great game, very enjoyable and unique experience, with the great "easy to play, hard to master" difficulty that makes most games wonderful. Physics are also done very well and I have yet to see any physics errors.

I bought this game 3 years ago, and I am so dissapointed.

I'll give a little backstory on this game.

StarForge was pretty much a sandbox sci-fi game. This doesn't sound new, but this was back then in 2012 when the game was announced, this was a pretty unique concept. Hell, the graphics are still pretty good nowadays. However, that is where this game falls short.

The game is highly unoptimized. I understand the game world is massive (and is quite impressive for 2012) but it crawls to a powerpoint presentation whenever I move or turn. In multiplayer (which is now completely abandoned) it was less than 5 FPS. Yikes.

The game was filled with promises that were never filled, and updates weren't consistent. Dev team stayed quiet a lot during development and rarely talked to the fanbase at the time.

The game is now an absolute glitch fest. You'd think it would be like the trailer, but that one was, what, 2013? This is recent gameplay of the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI0210c1xPk

In fact, after seeing how unoptimized the game was back in 2013, I just quit the game and moved on. I forgot entirely about it until now, messing around and seeing the lowest rated games on Steam. Seeing this game on the last page, 2nd to last, I actually got nostalgic.

My heart actually feels sick looking at this game, knowing I spent money on something that was a mess in the end.

Oh, and the best news? The devs abandoned this to work on Reign of Kings. Which is equally as glitchy and abandoned. Nice job.
