Another wonderful game from the mind of Grace Bruxner.
Highly recommend playing both in the series, and remembering that crime isn't real.

Yes - and no.

Great campaigns and single player, perfect for fans of the games (even though it's only Reach at time of writing this). Janky multiplayer with auto-aim controller that makes fights feel a bit awkward. Having both keyboard and controller options, I get that it's logical to give a bit of assist to slower moving controller movement, but in TDM or DM that can be the difference between an instant headshot at spawn (no spawn protection), or firing wildly from the hip against someone landing perfect shots.

Edit: For some wild reason, with KBM you can't crouch while moving? Absurd.

Also, fix the menus, 343.

I love designing houses - for approximately 4 hrs per day, only to lose any enthusiasm i had towards playing the ACTUAL game - as soon as i'm done designing a beautiful, B E A U TIFUL house. <3 (Charlie didn't write this, Charlie doesn't lke playing The Sims. :/ )

A charming little adventure following Frog Detective's deeply philosophical and seat-gripping adventure on a haunted island (Lobster Cop is still not available). For those familiar with Grace Bruxner's other work, this is a lovely, fleshed out addition to the growing collection - to those uninitiated, welcome to your new fan club. Honestly, it's worth the small asking price for the chance to judge The Competition alone.

Great, short little film that perfectly encapsulates the whole mood and atmosphere of the game itself - especially in the moral choice and drab, rigid authoritarianism. Definitely worth a watch if already a fan of the game, equally worth a watch as an introduction to it.

TL;DR It's not Quake Arena, but it has promise

The champions are pretty diverse and fun in styling (v disappointed no eyeball on legs though, even if it is a bit oddjob-y), but this can leave into a massive imbalance in play style. Not so much from their speed and health stats etc, but more from the active abilities. Doom Slayer and big warlord bloke need to be -heavily- nerfed, because there really isn't much defence outside of spamming rockets and you kind of have to just accept your fate.

Rockets. The only thing worth really shooting is rockets. And railgunning, but you're more likely going to only be looking for rockets and rockets and rockets and rockets. I'm not really sure what the trigun was really put in there for apart from a bit of space filler, would've much preferred a return from the plasma rifle.

Outside of all that, the major major issue lingering (I know it's early access) is in the match joining. Throwing a server browser in would really be a godsend, because the whole unknown waiting around while it counts out how long you've been waiting for gets tiring quickly. I understand with the whole loot box inclusion it gives players time to mess about with their vanity items while waiting for a match, but it doesn't really feel good - especially in the case of arena shooters - because you can end up with these odd delays between high adrenaline fights. The minute you finish a round there seems to be just a sudden drop straight back to the lobby, leaving you twiddling your thumbs wondering where all the action suddenly disappeared to.

Most will be happy to know the microtransactions don't add anything apart from costumes and gun skins and colours, as far as I'm aware. Also nice to see they included some of the old Quake models as unlocks. Now I can pretend I'm blatting the yetis from Quake 1 with the original nailgun while I dissasociate from being continually killed by some guy spamming the doom slayer berserk button.

Overall, 4 rockets out of 5 at developmental stage, needs a lot of tweaks but I'm kind of just happy Quake still exists.

Simple in nature, Reigns is essentially a narrative choice game which will send you from ruthless death to defeat. Running mainly off a 'yes/no' basis, odd, humour-filled scenarios can define your usually short-lived run on the throne. Always expect defeat in this game, it's more just a matter of time. You will even occasionally lose just from doing too well.

Very fun concept with instant gratification -- for such a low price, it'd be hard to fault as a successful time-waster.

A very personal window into the relationships that can form online, Cibele certainly has a draw in its voyeurism. The protagonist feels very real, and left me feeling almost like an intruder to the intimate conversations, private messages and spaces that are open to explore. The FMV could be a little more polished and does suffer from being a little too cardboard at times, but not so much that it detracts from the overall plot and can easily be forgiven from a small developer.

Perhaps not worth the regular pricing -- I finished the game in around an hour or so -- but does make for an interesting and fairly emotional experience.

A very simple premise with an unexpected twist. In terms of gameplay, there's nothing to really talk about, but probably worth the 10 second download just to experience why it's different
