NEO does an incredible job translating all of TWEWY's crucial systems into something possible—and palatable—on a standard controller layout, without compromising the variety, complexity, and soul of the original. If you loved TWEWY, you'll love this. And if you didn't, you might find comfort in the knowledge that NEO is far more accessible and refined.

TWEWY is my favorite game of all-time. For 15 years, not only did I clamor for this experience, but I also built up an expectation that I genuinely never thought could be met. Believe me when I say, I went in expecting disappointment, and I left with a fulfillment I can't quite describe.

However, Square's minimal marketing and seemingly-negative view on the title has been heartbreaking to watch. NEO has absolutely not been treated with the same level of fairness and respect as other titles released in the last year, and has performed abysmally as a result. I doubt we'll ever see TWEWY again because of Square's typical, head-in-ass philosophy, but I'm happy I got to see all my friends one more time.
