It's like playing FF1 and Mario. I really like the music and the class changing!

Good game

A game I've come back to several times because nothing else quite scratches the itch for me- and trust me, I've looked. It's a puzzle platformer/open-world exploration game disguised as a turn-based RPG, but also a classic JRPG disguised as a voxel platformer.

Gameplay: to be blunt, if you don't like either one of those archetypes, you probably won't like the game; the platforming is relevant enough to put off people who don't like very basic Minecraft parkour (especially if you're a completionist who wants all the chests), and turn-based combat has always been hit-or-miss for many gamers in general. But if you do happen to like your Super Mario with a little bit of Final Fantasy, it's right up your alley.

Aesthetics: most (if not all?) of the game is made with free music and stock assets, so temper your expectations....is what I would say if the game didn't somehow completely ooze charm. It doesn't feel or sound like a "cheap" game at all, and everything matches aesthetic very well (with maybe the slight exception of bosses generally looking better and more detailed than the player party, but that's very early JRPG-esque if you like that style). I'm more of a music nut than art/animation geek, and I can't stop thinking about how perfect the zone music is in the entire game (particularly the Delende and Salmon Pass music lives rent-free in my head).

Writing: the weakest part of the game, which is a bummer for a 10/10 in every other department. That being said, it's not a bad story so much as it just.....doesn't exist, which some might consider a good thing. Harder to be disappointed in a bad ending if all of it is mediocre, or something.
