The concept and idea of the game are great. Playing as different characters of the family that help each other the more you level them up through mechanics and also allowing co-op is very refreshing. Story has a good beat even though the subject is a little washed up these days (mysterious black goo wakes up and you have to fight the evil).

Very big downside is the fact that game still has stuttering issues. People complained about it since 2019. and devs stated in multiple threads that they will fix it. Its 2025 when I'm writing this and the issue is still there. Its a big issue for a fighting game where you have to utilize multiple attacks, dodges and strategies for every different character. You will find yourself losing health and dying with no fault of your own a lot of times.

Another issue for me was a bad balance between characters, especially between ranged and mele. Close quarters fighting is very poorly optimized and requires a lot more effort. Some characters like Joey are almost useless when compared to the rest of the crew.

These two combined can cause a lot of frustration in a game where you are already expected to do multiple runs of same dungeons with different or same characters to grind for upgrades, encounters and so on. Dying to a random mob because game decided to stutter is no fun.

The games full price is 22€ which is too much so at that point I would not recommend it, not with these issues, no matter how much I love the rest of it. If its 80% or more on discount then it is def worth a try if you enjoy dungeon crawlers or rouge-lite games with a little fresh twist.

Most of the times getting early access games is a very bad idea. Dinkum is an exception. It was awesome from the start and I am so happy to see it reach full release. It is fun, casual, original, great visuals. For a very low price compared to rest of the games today you get tons of quality gameplay; with friends or solo. Developer really poured his heart into the project.

I know that at the writing of this review everyone is up in arms about dev and messages in the patch notes and what not. Honestly I don't give 2 ♥♥♥♥♥ about it. The thing that is bothering me with this game is that it was sold in full, not an early access as a whole game. A year later dev decides to butcher a small, simple game and take out vital mechanics of the game to sell them as DLC. That is a big no, that is greed, that should be against the law.

Imagine buying a whole PC, a year later service comes over, takes out your GPU and tells you that if you want it you need to buy it again. Instead of focusing doing new content for DLC he just took out stuff from the core game. IMHO this guy is just chasing clout no matter the price.

Do not buy this game, who knows what he has on his mind next. Even as it is, it is not worth the price. You will have more fun with Vampire Survivors that is half the price.

I am still the best mofo driving bear and I like to eat fish and I am sponsored by tropic fruit and in some cases birds. I like long drives, sunsets, geting drunk while driving and being a tease. Thank God for Jim Sterling and thank God for me. Bless you all.

As I started playing this the athmosphere seemed like another one of endless "survive zombie apocalypse" games. I didn't know much what is game about because I got it as a gift from dear friend. But after a few minutes it become clear that this is not generic zombie game. It does have an apocalypse element and though clues are given about what coused it the emphasis of the story isn't on that.

The game nicely combines platform and a bit of puzzle elements with survive mode. You play as a very capable and determent character who is out to find his family in a city that suffered cataststrophe a year ago. In the process you encounter other people, some friendly, some in need of your help and some that catastrophe drowe to crime and even canibalism. You are given some free will and some of your actions will determin fate of others but all in all it is a pretty linear game that is focused on a protagonist story.

General problems with the game is its lenght which is way too short for a game of that price, lack of free will in full degree and some very annoying bugs. Also save system is terrible. It is an interested play to kill few hours but far from perfect game.

Nominated this game for the Test of time category because truly it will stand as a great game even 10 years from now. This is one of the games that I always have installed and even after all these years dev team still shows love to the game expanding it.
