VF5 R.E.V.O. is a bit of a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, the core gameplay is still that classic, deep, technical Virtua Fighter goodness, frame data, spacing, and precision still matter more here than in almost any other fighter. The rollback netcode is also a huge win, making online matches smooth and responsive, which is crucial for a game this demanding. But honestly, the single-player content took a serious hit. No story mode, no Quest Mode like in VF5, and customization options in the base game are really limited unless you’re willing to pay for DLC. It kind of feels stripped down. Visually, it’s a mixed story too. While R.E.V.O. is technically the best-looking version, 4K 60 FPS, and well-optimized on PC some of the original VF5’s charm got lost. Stage lighting, effects like rain or water, and even the music don’t hit the same, even with legacy options. Still, with 19 characters and a rock-solid foundation, R.E.V.O. feels like a step toward keeping VF alive. It's a Great game for the competitive player but there's not a whole lot to do if your a casual player.
