Caves of Qud is one of those special kinds of games that the more you play it, the more you'll discover. It has so many things going on at once, whether you're aware of them or not, that it would seem overwhelming in similar titles (though to be honest I've never played a game quite like it), but manages quite well to let you discover the elements that are important to you and let you focus on them. The level of thought and detail put into the game is immensely impressive; sure, you'll die a lot, experimenting and learning from each death, but the world of the game very much feels like an actual world, with its own rules and laws and tons of unique treasures and interactions to be found.
