While I LOVED this game in its original release I cant say the same anymore. Controls are clunky, aiming is terrible, and its easy to get overwhelmed. But thank god for micro-mines.

Some minor controller issues, like the weapons wheel not responding, but otherwise the game plays exactly as it should.

I understand why CoD has such a cult following. Gameplay is good, but not GREAT. The controls are very chunky/sloppy. Even low level AI can be hard to engage with when the game chooses to be laggy. Biggest issue here is bullet spread. To EA, every gun has the uncontrollable recoil of a 110 pound woman firing a 7.62 LMG standing. At approx 30 in game feet, the spread from a 5.56 rifle is 2-3 hits out of 10 rounds fired. Its just unrealistic.

Lobbies are few and far between. There is no feature in the game showing whats popular currently so you can join multiple matches and none of them launch. Player base is also massively inconsistent. Just because you had back to back matches at one time of day doesnt mean that anyone will be on the next day at the same time.

Weapons leveling/progression is REALLY bad. You get ONE of each weapon type to start unless you pay them for ELITE. Thats not worth it for a $60 game. Advanced Battlepass is at least forgiveable at $10/ea. Characters and skins are also bad. You get ONE operator for each class (class systems are a bad model for FPS games anyway, elite operators in the US military cross-train to do every job, not just a specification) and that one operator has a bunch of CoD-esque skins that are boring and not overly tactical or cool or fun, but a really bad mis-match of all 3.

Where this game shines is the modes. Its not perfect by any means, but the diversity of maps and capture-the flag type objectives is realistic to a military styled FPS. The CON of the modes is the imbalance of vehicles/positions. In some maps (Im looking at you, Caspian Border and Stranded) there are severe imbalances in the enemy AI and Vehicles that blatantly impact your teams ability to get the Win. On Stranded, the AI alone is able to hold off the enemy team and prevent progression at the very first capture mission, causing an immediate stalemate no matter now many of them your team kills. On Caspian Border, the RUS team gets a plane, and NONE of the available equipment, vehicles, or classes available to the USA team can down it. You will spend the entire match with your team spamming Stinger missiles only to have them all miss, cuz FLARES. The only aerial vehicle option for the USA is a Blackhawk, which is useless given its lack of air-to-air capabilities.

Im really glad I got this on sale for $5. I only got it because Grandpa Gaming makes it look like a blast. Im not asking for a refund, but not keeping it installed either.

I was excited for this game. I love combat sims, but WAR THUNDER is a bad joke.

1. Its chock full of hackers. In every other match there was a player in an aircraft i'd be chasing, then suddenly they'd be coming right at me (without any manuever) and when they got inside 1500ft id be insta-killed. Not Hacking my @$$.

2. Its just a cash cow. Want to spend 5 years grinding 4 hours a day to unlock everything? Don't worry, you wont, because Gaijin will have made the game longer by time you think you're done... unless you pay them obscene amounts of money for in game currency to unlock stuff.

3. Bomber kills arent counted 90% of the time. In a BR 1.3 match flying at 5000ft I dropped 16 bombs precisely and got credit for just 2 hits. I know it wasnt my team getting kills. Gaijin just sucks.

4. The game limits response times for high response mouses. I imagine they do this for sake of equality, but its a bad joke when your bead doesnt track onto an enemy any faster at 300dpi than it does at 1200

Lots of fun for kids.
Many pixar characters included. plays well on controller.
MAKE SURE YOU TURN !!VSYNC ON!! This will fix most glitches encountered.

I'm going to be super critical. Hate me if you want. I think RARE lost a bet and had to make a game with no meaningful progression. I get having a level playing field for PvP, but PvE? Skeleton crew ships have already got holes in them, but are harder to sink than a player operated galleon.

With the exception of Strongholds and Ports, the map feels empty. Many places that would be neat to plunder outside of events are just vacant when there is no mission or event, and half the time are very vacant even during missions. Missions aren't exactly simple or remotely easy to follow unless you have a veteran player on your crew. Simple tasks like finding sunken ships manifest can become an endless toil if you don't stop at every island along the way to search in painful detail for clues. The only solid way to make a decent haul is to plunder strongholds. Its so easy, a solo player can handle it. Just park your ship on the low corner, wait for the phantoms to charge down in front of you and spam cannonballs till each wave is dead. Doing this clears the stronghold in about 5 minutes, then it takes another 10-20 to search the whole base and load up all the loot. 30-45 minutes worth of work and a solo player can net 35k gold. But my point is, its not fun. It's not interesting.

Merchant delivery missions. ITS A DELIVERY, not an ACQUISITION and DELIVERY, so why the hell am I being given empty crates to go gather supplies? Never in the history of shipping companies, especially the pirate era, did the merchant say to the privateer "You're being paid to Deliver the macguffins, but I dont have them, you have to go to random desert islands and find them." Like how hard is that really to screw that up RARE? Are you imbeciles? Because playing this makes me think your entire dev team is imbeciles. I actually believe nobody in the dev raised their hand and said "But having no meaningful progression is, like, insanely dumb."

Whats worse is the player base. I'm NOT talking about Reapers. I'm talking about every other player who sees a ship approaching with the alliance flag raised and says "I don't need their help, I'll just kill them anyways". How stupid are you. MMO's like this thrive on player cooperation. Can we throw a bone to the soloists? In 40 hours of play (10 on PC, 30+ on gamepass) I had so many random crewmates join, then when they wanted to do something other than the voyage I was already in the middle of, just bounced? You're still gonna gain from my voyage, so why cut out? And holy crap the No-Mic'ers. Its a game about communication and you got no Mic? Turtle Beach Xbox/PC compatible is like 25 gold at any big box store. You're whats wrong with the player base.

It's just not good.

I'm running on high end specs, so its not a performance issue.

I played past the tutorial and a little free roam, and its just not any good. I am a veteran of FPS and Open world games, I played GTA III-present on console, V on Xbox 360 and PC... Skyrim, the Fallouts, the Farcry's, the original COD MW Trilogy... All are excellent 1st person games and excellent story telling games. Cyberpunk isn't good at either.

Im also a veteran player of the Cyberpunk 2020 (1990) tabletop game, so there is a small amount of expectation...

What I see here is a game that tried to copy the best parts of many of the aforementioned titles, and falls flat on its face.
Speech system, meh.
Distraction system, meh.
Combat system - poorly refined, very bouncy aim, bad mechanics
Character creation - two basic cookie cutter bodies. there are no body shape/size variations without mods, which is sad since body scaling has been a thing since the 2010's.
Everything about the interface is just bad. its very easy to switch screens or click something you did not mean to.
Vehicle handling is also trash. I felt like I was driving cars in a PS2 game.
Cyberpunk and Starfield have the same problem, both dev's counted on mod communities to make the game eternal, as had happened to the Witcher Series and Skyrim/Fallout, and both devs have had to scramble to save their releases.

I figured waiting 3 years would have made it worth playing/owning, but I am deeply disappointed

Dumb game. very clunky handling, so much worse than 3 and 4.

No Idea what Ubish-it was thinking. Aparently pumping a druggie full of 44 magnum at point blank range doesnt matter, because none of your rounds actually hit.

activating your parachute has a hold delay, but jumping out of a helicopter or letting go of a zipline is instant.

just a bad game that tried very hard to recreate the magic of farcry 3 but massively fails.

Also, how dumb is the story? you wake up in a bunker on an island AND THE BAD GUY LIVES ON THE NEXT ISLAND OVER????

I feel like someone at Ubi watched kingsman and wanted to tap into that feeling of shooting up religious radicals and delivered a game that is utter garbage.

DMZ was the best mode and has been ruined. Its the place where players who can't hold their own in strictly PvP modes go to take out their frustrations on players who like doing missions in a large environment and arent looking for a fight.

DMZ should be strictly cooperative PvE

Still doesn't work. At least theres still NV.

I have been fighting this game for years... trying patches, deleting config files. I'd love to know what i'm doing wrong because the game has never worked.
