Unless you're a fan, I recommend waiting for a sale and then buying both the game and its Iceborne expansion. You'll have to overlook the frustrating ui elements and moderately repetitive/clunky gameplay mechanics. Thankfully, the dopamine hit from killing cool monsters and crafting their gear makes up for most of this.
