Garry's Mod is a well made game, even though it is quite old. If you like sandbox, mods, and the Source engine I recommend it. I think the best experience in the game is playing with friends.

Counter-Strike: Source has very good maps, graphics and gameplay. There are people playing it, you just have to find a good server for the original and best experience. I have even hosted my own server since I have had the opportunity to do so and it has been very fun.

This would be awesome for a lan party. Maximum players is 4. You can make your own levels and post them in the steam workshop. There is one negative side and its when trying to play with friends there are sometimes problems connecting to the game.
