A sincerely fun little romp for those looking to scratch a L4D flavored itch.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a top notch game with a great feel

The obvious parallels to Dark Souls are all the right sort: Fair, but brutal enemies, the hunting for paths to checkpoints, and even the Jolly Co-operation of taking on tough bosses with the help of allies

The things that make this unique, however, add a whole extra layer of awesome

While the early weapons you're able to obtain are rather generic, they quickly take on personality, as the player collects unique boss weapons, and weapon "mods", which often act as spells, ranging from healing auras, to damage buffs, to projectiles, to even making a shaky plant grow. Not even joking.

Without spoiling too much, the different locales you travel to are quite nice, visually and thematicly, although the early gameplay locations seem to just blur into a muddy brown imo, which isn't great when most of the enemies in that area are the same muddy brown, as is the player.

Another cool feature is that each game is randomized: your world will differ from a friends, and you may even encounter different bosses, and find different items, incentivizing a lot of co-op play

All in all, a positive experience, and would heartily recommend.

a solid entry to the series, with some solid cross-over characters (although Negan feels weird as hell to play as)

+ Returning characters feel as nice as they did when they were fresh, with a few little updates
+ the Assists system, while solid, isn't broken to the point of controlling an entire matchup
+ Storymode's core is solid, and feels great to play through


Would highly reccomend waiting for a sale to grab the core game and a bunch of the DLCs all at once if you have the patience, it's still a solid grab at full price though, and a great addition to any Fighting Game Enthusiast's collection

Remember how there were games on the N64 and Playstation for WWF/WWE? Get one of those off ebay, it'll feel less like ♥♥♥♥ and look better
